  1. I appreciate the link, but I tried searching "trust" on several pages...zero results. Anywhere in specific I need to look? Thanks! -Emt1581
  2. I'd like to read/know more about doing it through a trust. As far as I knew, doing it through a business was the only way to bypass prints and CLEO sign off. Downside to that is if the business ever doesn't exist, neither does your right to own the item. Again, additional info would be much appreciated! Thanks!! -Emt1581
  3. So CAA makes the folding stock mechanisms and such? I'll have to check them out. Thanks! -Emt1581
  4. You have to go to the ATF's site, then go to the NFA forms and put in a request for one. I'd give you the link if I had it but it won't take you but a minute to find it on their site. But what you do is request whatever forms you want, give your address, and they send them to you free....it does take a month or two to get them. I just got mine a few weeks ago and it took about 2 months to get here. -Emt1581 You can also check out this on arfcom: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=17&t=257740 ://http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.ht...7&t=257740 ://ht
  5. I'd like to buy a few ACE parts so I can turn my standard stock into a telescopic AND folding stock settup... who actually has the ACE parts in stock now? Something else I'm thinking as I'm reading this thread... Does anyone other than ACE make the same or similar parts that ACE does?? Thanks! -Emt1581

  7. Okay, here's another reason...or why I went F1. I just bought two Saigas. I just sent the F1's to the ATF. Right now that's a total bill of about $1500. Besides that, I bought another expensive weapon and put it on an F1 (I'll convert it myself). I can't afford to do two S12 conversions at the moment. But I also want to get the paperwork approved while I still can (impending AWB an all that paranoia). So, while I wait and save $$$, I get to shoot my guns and if a AWB is in place before I get the funds together, I can still SBS them because I have the F1's approved to do so. ...un
  8. It took the ATF "a month or two" to get the BLANK form to me. It is the compliance form. It just struck me that all we do is talk about our three-magical parts so we can comply and this form doesn't care if you mount a rear view mirror on the thing...just so you are not a nonimmigrant alient. Which, again, I would think the Form 1 would verify. I'm guessing the turn around time for the form will be 4-6 months. I'm also interested in finding a smith that can do the job. However, I'll pobably go with one of the two I already have spoken to. Thanks! -Emt1581
  9. I'd do it myself in a heartbeat except I don't have the tools or know-how to shorten the gas block and smooth/even out/rethread the barrel. -Emt1581
  10. A month or two ago I ordered the Form 1 to turn my S12 into a SBS. Today the form(s) came along with form on 922r. What has turn around time been like recently? I have one or two names already, but what smiths on here can do a shortened barrel without having to wait a few months? Thanks! -Emt1581
  11. Don't you find it interesting that you and I are the ONLY ones commenting in this thread? Not sure what it means...just interesting. -Emt1581 Probably cause this "issue" has been discussed before at great length with a couple different solutions suitable for a couple different needs. Easily found using the search feature on the board. No matter how many times I see it, that joke never fails to make me smile! -Emt1581
  12. I'm more concerned with blowing an intruder straight to hell than worrying about the cops "borrowing" my gun. I'll be in the right, I'll get my gun back. Only gun I will NEVER take a chance with is my grandfather's WWII Ithaca 1911a1 (currently asleep in my lap). Just my .02 -Emt1581 Yeah but thats what my Mossy is for. As far as the Cops "borrowing guns," there has been one case that I know of for sure where I collected a firearm that was used justifiably as "evidence." THE JUDGE ordered the gun be destroyed even though the shooting was justified. From that moment on, I vo

  14. First off, don't appologize. This is a forum...we're here to learn from each other and sometimes the search function doesn't lead you to the answers you're looking for. I just ignore the "try using the search function" replies anyways. As to your question, with stock sights, I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Now if you have an Eotech or something, that's a different story. Do you have a stock S12 except for the folding stock? -Emt1581
  15. I would say yes to both being compatible. However, I only have personal experience with the CAA grip. Mine is the adjustable one, but same platform. What I will say is that if you replace the trigger gaurd as I did (I used a Tromix DIY), you might need to sand the inside of the channel where the grip attaches to the gun only because the trigger gaurd is too wide and the CAA grip won't fit over it without slight sanding. -Emt1581
  16. Oh now that's something I never thought of. Sounds like you're right on the money with that one though. Don't you find it interesting that you and I are the ONLY ones commenting in this thread? Not sure what it means...just interesting. -Emt1581
  17. With all this 922r crap...I'm curious how many cases have EVER been made to prosecute violators? Seriously, is there some federal agent(s) that are in charge of worryng about how many parts foreign/domestic a gun has? Are they the same bunch that makes sure no one's cutting tags off of mattresses they haven't purchased and making sure no one is copying movies from Blockbuster?? -Emt1581
  18. I tried putting the cleaning kit in...doesn't fit. I like the receipt idea. Thanks! -Emt1581
  19. I notice the Tapco hammer is fully built on both sides. The stock hammer only is built up on one side. However, since I'm only using a single hook trigger, I'm curious if I can just drop back in the stock hammer with the G2 trigger? Thanks! -Emt1581
  20. I installed a CAA pistol grip on my S12, and it has a hollow cavity with a good plug (stays put but is easily removed). Anyways, I havent tried to store the cleaning kit/wrench up there. I doubt it would fit. Just curious what yall store up there, if anything? Thanks! -Emt1581
  21. Thanks, glad to be back. You mentioned about deforming in the box, but really that's just like stacking 4 or 5 rounds one on top of the other isn't it? The spring of a magazine puts more pressure on the rounds than that. I think I can answer this question by looking at the rounds in my 5rd. mag. It's upstairs but when I go up I'll take a look. They've been loaded in there and not loaded into the gun for a few days now, ever since I got my beautiful 12 (I mean 13) round mags in the mail. If they are deformed, then it'll prove that the mag spring alone can do it. If not, it'
  22. Actually the surefire mags come with a little card in them that says if you use the mag it meets ALL THREE of the 922r requirements. I guess the body, spring, and follower count as individual parts. Not sure how correct that is though. -Emt1581
  23. I plan on keeping it loaded with the bolt closed. I've fed deformed rounds into the chamber and they loaded/cycled without issue. I've done it several times. I also did a live fire test of the deformed rounds at the range. They cycled and fired again without issue. Something I'm curious about is if you leave the mags loaded and stored, do they start to deform anyways with summer heat or just over time? -Emt1581
  24. What is SGM?...I'm guessing the S is for Surefire. Also, nice Five-seveN. I bought one as an investment of sorts a few years ago when there was a panic that they would be banned. I also bought three boxes of ss192 ammo. Well it was hell trying to sell the gun without much of a loss so I ended up trading it for my 700P. Great pistol though! -Emt1581
