  1. +1 for Cabelas backorders. I've ordered two ammo tins and a couple thousand rounds. They're always on backorder, but they eventually show up. Use ship to store and save on shipping. Comes to about .28/round.
  2. Someone correct me if I'm wrong because my Saiga didn't come with a BHO, but I believe it is just for holding the bolt open for convenience. I don't think it has anything to do with making it easier to change mags. I don't think it holds the bolt open after the last round is shot either. I THINK that you can get mags that can do that. There are quite a few threads about a LRBHO (last round bolt hold open) magazine. Long answer to a short question. Yes, you can buy a pre-modified Tapco FCG from Dinzag. "do the standard 30rd mags suck that bad that i should look at for sure doing
  3. There are quite a few options you have for each of the things you listed. I got most of my parts from dinzagarms.com Tapco trigger group- decide if you want your BHO (bolt hold open). If you do, you need to get a modified trigger group or modify it yourself. Pistol grip- get pretty much anything you like. vented hand guard- if you're handy with a dremel you can do it yourself or one of the businesses listed on this site can do an amazing job. rails- again, you can install yourself or buy a tri-rail. adding a bottom rail is quite a bit less expensive. top rail- you could
  4. +1 for the search option! When I converted my Saiga I had a ton of questions, but before posting a question that had been asked hundreds of times I used the search function and found an answer to every single question I could think of. There's not a whole lot that hasn't been covered on this site, that's why I love it so much!
  5. When I did my conversion I ran into the same problem once because I forgot to remove my gas tube. My screw was missing too, but I just figured that the guy I purchased it from lost it. After looking at my brother's Saiga I noticed that his forend didn't have notches in the side like mine did to help keep his gas tube in place.
