After a session at the range today I came home and thought it would be a good idea to take apart the mags I used and wipe them down with some silicon (helps smooth feeding). Surprise, surprise... I found the springs in all of them dry and rusted (AGP and Surefire alike) These mags had very little use and were stored inside an air conditioned room so I wonder how they would have been if stored in a truck or a shed... Not a really big deal but you would think they would have sprayed the springs with oil before putting them together. Now, I have about 12 more (new) mags to check out.

Piracy? What the heck!
TheGlobule replied to THE_HUNTER's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
So, let see here... One or two Navy vessels, helicopters, airplanes and light boats at the cost of what? hundreds of thousands a day? And they are saying that they are negociating with the pirates? Did someone say snipers? How many of these pirates are they anyway? -
AFIK, 'Castle Doctrine' generally refers to defending your home, and the 'Stand Your Ground' laws apply when you are not at home (but are somewhere you are legally allowed to be). True, the Castle doctrine allows one to use deadly force day or night against a perceived treath in his home except when the threat is from a resident of the home (self defense laws still applies in that case).

Trimming the BHO when doing a PG conversion PICS

Are you sure of this? I used the factory hammer in a S-12 conversion with a Tapco disconnector and trigger and I don't see how it could go full auto... -
Some barrels have a 1:7 rate of twist and some have a 1:9 rate. You need the higher rate of twist to stabilize the heavier bullets. I haven't heard of any problems with the lighter bullets. I like the Tantal, it's light and feel more balanced than my WASR-10/68.

there are a few Polish Tantal on the market right now. I got one made for Century with a NoDak Spun receiver and it is a nice gun.

Mags must be disassembled and sent in separate packages (one package for follower, one for bodies and one for base plates). Everything must me be sent as replacement parts. Trying to import assembled mags wil send you to federal state prison. -

Minwax golden maple poly on Romanian WASR-10... A little sanding, a little steel wool and two coats within 48 hours. First time I did any kind of staining so it's good enough for me and I'm happy with the result.

Did you remove the cover to load the drum? If so, remove all the shells from the drum, put back the cover on and reload the drum by inserting the shells from the the top (push the follower or previously loaded shell down with your fingers and insert the next shell on top like a regular mag.

What an Obamanation !

OK, let say Obama plans goes through... Now, the government is saving those $528 billions and the insurances have to pay it instead. So the cost of private insurance will raise for everybody and the service provided to veterans will go down. Veterans won't be hired by small companies because it would likely raise the cost of their group health insurance coverage. That's just great... Don't you all love this?
