  1. I'm glad there's a couple that do. So far out of 240 rounds, I had only one FTE caused by one of the shit-ass "Estate" slugs - they are dirty as sludge compared to the KO Brenekkes (which are dirty enough, but GOOD) and the RIO's are actually also good cheap slugs. Being that 239 of them fired perfectly and the action is running smoother than ever, I think I"m going to leave alone for now. I also have heard no definitive answers on legality on changing parts here. While it may seem irrelevant, the last thing I wanna do is fuck that up, especially in NY, on some little minor part. I'd l
  2. Steve- I have a question, but please first check the following link: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...l%3Den%26sa%3DN I'd like to know if I follow these instructions up to the part of removing the shepherds hook and safety latch, can I at that point simply install the retainer-part, and put it back together without further dissasembly?? is that possible? The plate replaces the shepherds crook retaining wire and prevents the hammer and trigger pins from walking out. If either of these pins walks out, your shotgun will not function. Reassemble all th
  3. not converted. not worth it, bein in ny... First question is your S12 converted?
  4. Kinda answers my question - let me ask it better: IT IS REALLY WORTH FUCKING WITH THIS?? I still don't have instructions - is there anything special to know about putting the part back in the action?
  5. Hi guys. I recently bought a Saiga12 and it does have the factory installed manual BHO. I ordered one of these Krebs retainers, and I have receive it... 0) I would really like to understand WHAT THE HELL THIS DOES - what is the point to this part? 1) I'd love to know how to install this thing the "right" way! any help? in light of question zero, I don't want to sound like an idiot, but the reason I bought it is because before I test-fired and broke this thing in, reassembly was a bitch and the part description from MIdway makes it sound like it addresses this.. NOW THAT I H
  6. Still not clear- and I'm not sure if I agree. 1) The law doesn't specify mag-capacity regarding shotguns, it simply says "accepts detachable magazines" without referecing round-count 2) I already installed a permanent fixed-pin locking the stock into position permanently. HOWEVER IT STILL LEAVES THE PISTOL GRIP IN QUESTION 3) I am planning on mounting a bottom cross-member onto the stock, which will effectively make the stock's grip "not protrude down obtrusively" as the ACTUAL law states it.. BEWARE - the Saiga 12 forum does NOT have the exact verbiage of the law- it is paraphrased
  7. Hi guys. I've been reading some VERY interesting threads througout this forum and a few others, pertaining to how the Tapco T-6 stock is NOT compliant to NYS law regarding a saiga, because the gun has a detach-mag.. THe law itself isn't cryptic, however the over-lap between state and fed law IS... ergo, my question here: IF I PERMANENTLY LOCK THE TELE FEATURE INTO ONE POSITION, USING A VISIBLE NUT AND BOLT WELDED IN PLACE, CAN I USE THE T-6 AND NOT BE IN VIOLATION? While I imagine the answer to this is no, I really wanna know definitively and figure out if there is a legal way to
  8. I dont think it matters... magazine-fed shotguns can have "conspicuous pistol grips" which is a damn f'ing shame.. I literally bought one of these TD deals, cause they're sweet, and I had the same idea- pin it in the short position permanently. as it happens, no dice- since it's already got a detach mag, the pistol would be strike 2, and that's that. o well.. I've heard people talk about the B-110 stock, however I don't think they're looking too close- those are for romaks and would need significant dremel work or maching to be fitted.
  9. Has anyone tried this with their Gilberts, or do they already accomodate a sling? I don't see how- it looks like the rail goes all the way through. However, if you cut a "track" with a cutting wheel on a dremel, and then hollowed out the middle part (like a router) to follow the same footprint of the factory foregrip's recessed area. Anyhow- I just bought this friggin grip, reluctantly, only to find out after the fact that apparently it doesn't accomodate slings.. if anyone knows defiitively, and if not, if you've made your own mod, I would love to see.

  11. Looks like sound logic to me. I just want it SOONER! Again, I've been meaining to buy a Saiga for some time (not upset I paid alot either!) however while it's SWEET as hell, I have 2 primary complaints out of the gate: 1) No LRBHO is just plain stupid. Especially since Izmash produces their own (very much WORKING version) on the EXP 30, I'm sure if they gave a shit, it could be easily retrofitted from the factory. I love the gun, but in factory-new condition, I consider it "reload-crippled" 2) Some of the machining leaves a bit to be desired, for sure. Maybe this is an understate
  12. And it does it with no modifications? On an unmodified saiga12 ?
  13. Hi there.. Mine DOES have the manual BHO, it came with it stock out of the box. That said, I still didn't see any parts extending forward into the mag cavity, which would cause HO upon spending last round - I'm glad my intuition was correct... How close is cobra to completing it- how will it work? Last question: I saw a video of a different Saiga shotgun on you-tube.. it talked about a model 12-s (not the regular "12" model) and the different features were notable: 1) Looked like it DID have an AutoBHO 2) dust cover was HINGED frontside onto receiver - All other AK variants
  14. Hi guys - I am new to the forum, and this is my virgin-post, so here goes: I just got my new Saiga 12, and I love it. I only got it last night, but I've already followed the bolt-smoothing instrux from Mike (THANKS) and it has helped the gun tremendously already! THANKS! this forum has already answered all my questions about this shotgun, except for ONE... 1) IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE THE BOLT HOLD OPEN ONCE THE MAG IS EMPTY???? Since the bolt MUST be open to load a full mag, It would seem very logical for it to do so - While I absolutely love this design, the re-loading flaw (v
