    SAIGATECH

Ray responded to my PM from this forum today. He said everything was in stock and one of his sweet parts will be on the way soon!
  2. UPDATE: 12/31/08 I discovered yesterday the company I ordered the two plastic/polymer AR stock adapters from had a hickup in my order and refunded my money. (So much for havig something to test before Christmas!) Based on these events I have decided to purchase the CAA adapter and CBS stock combo. Here's a pic: I decided on the CAA over the Vltor because: 1) The CAA adapter is a six position tube whereas the Vltor is five position. 2) The CAA adapter (New version) has a built-in snap clip sling mounting points on each side. (I use a bunch sling on my M4A1 that mou

    SAIGATECH

I really like the conversion piece from saigatech and have been trying to reach him for days to ask him a question and place my order. I have sent saigatech an email. I have sent skiboat specialities an email. I have also sent him a PM on this forum. NO RESPONCE. Does any know if he is closed for the holidays until 2009 or something?
  4. Are the magwell and mags constructed from metal? What is used for a mag release? What is required to attach the magwell? Will AGP and/or stock 5 round mags work in that magwell? (Modification probably necessary) How about the MD20 drum?
  5. While surfing gunbroker yesterday I came across these two items: Here is the magwell link: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=119660556 Here is the magazine link: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=119230049 Does anyone have any knowledge of these items or this seller? The seller is located in New Zealand. All positive Gunbroker feedback but only one as a seller and that was in 2006. He states in the listing that these are factory items... What's the deal? Please comment/advise.
  6. Nice work! Mine will be very similar. Keep us posted on future mods.
  7. I would like to trade two or three brand new, never fired, gen 2 BLACK AGP mags for two or three new, unfired, CLEAR AGP mags. Let me know! Thanks in advance!
  8. I emailed the mfg a while back and asked if they are the same hi-tech plastic. They said no, they are polycarbonate, which is still very strong, but not as strong as the black ones. I have two of the clear ones (new, unfired) and would trade one of them for a black (gen2) if someone wants to make that trade. [TRADED to yellowcarbon per our PMs] WHAT? I missed the boat? I'll trade if still available. Let me know!
  9. WOW THATS BIG!!! All you need is a rubber foot and that would make a great monopod! How does it function compared to the AGP? I notice it has no metal lips... Any issues? I wonder if it could be cut down smaller to go through a standard width doorway for home defense? (8 to 10 rnds maybe) I'm interested...
  10. I'd love to get some too! I'll take 5 if you find some!!!
  11. I'll take the kvar stock, tapco saw grip and FCG. Please let me know asap as I am ready to order these items from others. JD
  12. Black or clear? If clear I'll take them if still available. JD
  13. Check out the King Amrory KA-1212. There is a topic on this forum about it. Here is the link: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=33079 Here is the link to their product page for the KA-1212: http://www.kingarmory.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page32.html Here's a pic: They are supposed to be having special pricing for saiga 12 forum members upcoming. I think I will be getting one then.
  14. If you have made the decision to go the cutting route, make sure to check out all the adapters ACE makes. There is even a folding option (AKRBC-M4-FSM) that would work with the enidine tube if that is something you are interested in. The EMOD stock may be to thick to allow the stock to fold completely flat though. As viewed from above: Here's the link: http://www.aceltdusa.com/ak_print.htm Keep us all posted.
  15. On second thought, that adaptor is quite ugly. I think I might have to cut the tang and go with the Ace internal block, pignose adaptor, Enidine, and Vltor. I would agree the AR stock mounted behind the AK looks strange. I am however willing to test its function compared to the original stock to see which I like best. Like many others I like the 'feel' of vltor stock and the adjustability of of the AR mount/tube design. Once cut, you're committed. If you can wait a fews days I should have everything I need to try the no mod conversion. I will post a detailed report, including

    laser sights

I'm not sure what you are 'hunting' with a laser vs traditional iron sights, but I would recommend the Streamlight TLR-2 light/laser combo. This is an extremely robust unit that will handle the 12ga recoil with no problem. It combines the function of a tactical light AND a laser, and its small enough to be used on any pistols you might own too. I have one and I highly recommend it for 'hunting' or home protection. JD PS Here is a pic and a link to a good review of the light. Review: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=246417
  17. bcelliott, I have been looking into adding a enidine buffer to my S12. Here is what I came up with. Ace makes an aluminum ar to ak adaptor. I ordered an adapter from bj buffers ($30) but it turned out to be some type of polymer plastic and does not look like it would take the punishment. Ace looks like the way to go as it is a metal adaptor. From the sound of it it will not require you to cut the tang off the saiga. It looks like it would fit the vltor as long as it uses the standard ar tube. If it fits an ar then it will fit a S12 with the ace adaptor ($50). There are a lot of stocks
  18. AWESOME! Nice work. I'm in AGAIN. I just sent an email to Derek. Question for Jack - I'm following another topic you started on your improved safety. I see it pictured here again and I'm hungry for details. Can you tell us more. I checked the website and there was nothing there... Price? Required mods? Estimated delivery?
  19. Question for Jack - I was one of the lucky ones to get in on the first batch of magwells. I'm new to the saiga world, not to guns and/or mods, and I building up my parts list to do my first saiga conversion. I purchased two saiga and this first conversion will be a bolt-on, not weld, until I have fimilarized myself with what works/feels best for me. I have been looking at the saigatech trigger guard/grip adapter and wondering if it would interfere with the magwell. Jack can you comment on this please. Thanks in advance, JD
  20. Your 'formula' is similar to what I'm looking for with two major exceptions. Both the CAA and Vltor adapters are ONE piece construction. And secondly, both the CAA and Vltor adapters do NOT require you to modify your receiver in any way. (i.e. cutting off the stock tang.) Not to mention that I would assume the CAA and Vltor adapters are cheaper than the three items you have pictured.
  21. WTB AK100 style side folding solid stock kit. I would like to purchase everything necessary to modify my saiga 12 to have the side folding solid stock like the AK100. Please send description of what you have, pics and price. I would like to do something like sKott's saiga 12-c conversion found elsewhere on this forum! Thanks in advance! JD 8^)
  22. +1 It is way better than the Vltor model. I'm curious... Please explain your comment: "It is way better than the Vltor model." Both made of metal. Both require no mods to the receiver. Vltor has QD swivel sockets on both sides. CAA has loops on both sides. Vltor is LESS expensive. Vltor is dimensionally correct for Vltor and Colt stocks. (milspec.)
  23. Ditto... Called and spoke to Derek this morning and ordered mine today too!
