  1. I'm in. I'll contact your vendor after reading your reply to this post. Please excuse my ignorance, I'm new to the Sagia world.

When you say: "You can take the magwell off and still "Rock N Lock" if you want. " What does that mean?

Why not leave the magwell on all the time? Why not convert all of your mags? Why would you need to remove the magwell?

I'm assuming your magwell works something like the one on my M4A1. Slap the mag into its catch, release the bolt and start shooting... Correct?

More pics of the magwell, mag release and with a mag installed would help explain too.

    Thanks in advance!

PS: I'm assuming this will work best with a LRBHO... What are you using?

  2. I have now spent several hours researching these adapters. I have found two inexpensive composite adapters. One high mount, and one low mount. I will try them both and let you all know what I think. I will attach pics soon. I agree that a metal option would be better. I looked at the CAA adapter but was not impressed. Its pricy too. Based on everything I've seen so far I like the VLTOR AK adapter the best. The built in QD sling socket is a nice touch too. Check out their website for details.

    Here is the VLTOR adapter.

  3. My personal opinion is that they look really ugly with the offset, but that's just me.

If you're a fan of Vltor, they have a no-mod aluminum adapter tube.

CAA also has one that's very similar.

I have one, I can't think of the brand right now, but it puts the tube higher than the UTG, which is perfect for me with my scoped 308. I'll try to think of the name. It's somewhat similar to the Mako adapter.

Thanks for the reply. I would love to see these other adapters. I hope you can find the info and/or links.

  4. I have a Vltor emod stock on my m4 and I love it. I have been looking for a way to adapt the saiga to use this style of stock.

I came across this stock adapter. No mods required to use!

Does anyone have one of these and/or have an opinion to share? I plan on using a very similar optics mount for my halo sight and the height/geometry looks good in the pic.

Let me know what you think.

  5. I'm new to the saiga world so please be kind if I'm way off on my comments/concerns here.

While seaching the web for anything saiga related, I came across the wikipedia entry for the saiga 12.

Under the heading of 'Shortcomings' I read the following:

"The top round of ammunition left in loaded magazines will acquire an oval shape caused by the magazine spring squeezing the shells against a closed bolt. This will cause a failure to feed if shotgun shells are left in a loaded magazine inserted into a closed bolt shotgun for more than a few days."

This statement really concerns me because one of the primary roles for my saiga is home defense. The time may come when I need to be able to count on that first round working after sitting in the loaded mag for a long period of time.

    PLEASE ADVISE.

  8. The KA-1212 will screw directly onto the end of a threaded S 12, correct?

Yup, has the standard M22x0.75 threads and a lockring. We're working on a big batch of them right now and will try to put together a package deal for Saiga-12 members sometime in January to coincide with the start of our advertising sponsorship here.

I'll take one! Let me know when you have your 'package deal' going.

  9. Don't give up on getting on the "TROMIX train" just yet.................... Fat Lady may be in sight, but she ain't singing yet.

Much like the original poster, I am new to the saiga world. I moved from a 590. I bought two saiga 12 this week with the intention of stashing one away and using/modifying the other. I would love to have mine converted by TROMIX but I have no idea what the wait would be.

Can you give me an estimate of when I might be able to send in my saiga for conversion? :what:

  10. Just got back from shootin' my brand new S-12. :smoke:

Waaaay Cool Shotty. Put about a box and a half of Rem 6 shot thru her.

First couple of shells cycled but didn't "reset" the trigger. She was fine after that. I gather that she'll loosen up after a bit more shootin.

Overall I'm psyched about this new unit and am looking forward to shootin' the heck out of it

I'm glad to here you are stoked! I got such a good deal on one locally yesterday... I bought two! :victory:

I picked up 5 hicap mags as well! I took all they had. Saving a spare for a rainy day or ??? I hope to get out this weekend and destroy something!
