Thanks for the replies. I have some decisions to make. I really like my AP4, but I have a real love for Saigas.

Thanks. Are these THE magazines to have? Or are the Surefires every bit as reliable. $50 mags are an ouch for sure. I have a LR308AP4 and the new Pmags are about 18 bucks. I was thinking about selling it to convert another Saiga 308 (I have done several) but back then there were no aftermarket mags. Just trying to weigh everything out.

Can anyone give me a link to the css metal mags?

I dont post here much, but I check in from time to time. I had a nice .308 setup for long range. It would hold under 2 moa at 200yards if I did my part. It had a redstar trigger and a $100 scope mount(not the cheapie 30-40 dollar one) and a low end tasco. It was converted to pistol grip but I prefered the bulgarian thumbhole pictured. It was a great rifle, not ready for camp perry, but loads of fun.

WTB 16" saiga 7.62x39 in black or wood for a decent price. unmolested and unmodified prefered, but will consider a nice conversion. PLEASE EMAIL ME INSTEAD OF POSTING ponykilr@earthlink.net thanks, paul

Well since you wanted to talk on a personal note. I guess I will as well. First I trust a CNC Lathe on a receiver and a qualified gunsmith with LOTS of experience, then some inexperienced know it all with a dremel. If I wanted a extra 10 shots Ill just buy a extra magazine ,still can get them for 30 bucks and wait for a qualified distributor to make higher cap magazines. Why would you trust someone with non certified anything , and them charge you 80 bucks to do so, when all it takes is a knick too far on your receiver and then you have to purchase a new one if thats all that was damaged. sounds like your trigger is not fully releasing and it will not let the hammer get off the disconector and onto the sear. check for a reason that the trigger will not go back fully to the front. when i did my first one, after figuring out the dang sear/disconector spring dillema(before anybody had done one), i had zero problems.
