  1. I don't believe in begging and pleading with children. They know my stance on it and if they want to make an "adult" decision to the contrary that is their right. Just tough shit if they do.
  2. My grandmother used to keep all her used tinfoil from cooking, etc.in a large drawer in the kitchen. Maybe she knew something we don't. Recycled tinfoil probably works as well as the new stuff. It gives off less of a signature for the drones overhead.
  3. how old are your kids? Son , 25, BS in Mathematics, Software Engineer Daughter, 22 BS in Sociology , just got married
  4. Being a judgemental asshole is part of being a parent. You're mother must be proud of you.
  5. Glad she's going to be OK. I have a son and daughter. I told them early on that if they get a tatoo or anything other than ears pierced, they were cut out of the will. I meant it, too. So far so good.
  6. "7.5 pound Ruger #1 in .450 #2 Nitro Express pushing a 500 grain bullet at 2,500fps", That would pound either end of the rifle. Wouldn't be my goto home defense gun.
  7. This one may be a little large but it claims to withstand a .50 BMG. extremebeam.com. M1000 @ about $120 on Amazon.
  8. That funny feeling you have could save your life someday. One day your path will cross with a situation where you get that feeling again and be glad your have your weapon. Trust the force.
  9. My rep sent out a survey on the Employer Insurance mandate. He is a Demorat. This was my response: Issue: HEA Message Subject: Health Care Act Message Text: Mr. Barrow, I took your survey on the healthcare mandate and marked my choice as "Other". My response was based on the futility of the existing condition mandate. A person with a pre-existing condition would wait until care is needed to purchase the insurance, This would cause the price of the insurance for everyone to increase beyond current estimates. While I have sympathy for persons in those pre-existing situations,
  10. I just got a 1858 Remington from them. Don't get the 1860, get the Pietta 1858 Remington steel frame. The Rem can swap cylinders faster that you can change mags. You almost need a screwdriver and a while to change the Colt. That's why the guys in the Waw of Northern Aggression traded in the Colts for the Rems. Comes straight to your house, no FFL involved in GA. Your state may vary. Just my .02.
  11. I don't know if they still do it or not but a few years back I asked my Congressman to get me one that was flown over the Capitol. Call his/her local office. They may be willing to do anything for a vote nowdays. This was a nice cotton sewn flag.
  12. It's best to just sleep it off. When you wake up you'll feel like a new man.
  13. Looks like they are going the path they did in the 70's. Bloated the thing so much they killed it. Slim it down similar to the 68 Shelby KR and forget about all the other crap.
  14. Did you get the helicoil kit with the exrraction / installation tool? A lot faster than pulling the head. Motormite also makes a kit that's is a self tapping insert with a longer plug that is used in the new trucks and new coil boot. Part #42025. Have fun either way that motor will spit another one soon. I have a few customers that have installed the helicoil kits as preventative maintenance on every cylinder. I used the Timesert Kit. Works great and better than Helicoil IMO.
  15. Spent about 3 hours this weekend putting an insert in my '01 Ford truck head after it decided to spit out the famous No. 3 spark plug. Now that I have the kit the next ones will go easier.
  16. Duck looks like Google when it first came out. Just search results without all the BS and ranking. Thanks for the tip. As far as metadata collecting, how many times have you been to the range with your cellphone on? Guess who has that info now and a simple search can show who went to the range and probably owns a gun. Wrap it in tinfoil.
  17. One can leave from here but they will still have an agent tailing not far behind. >> This message has been scanned by the NSA and found to be free from harmful intent <<. .
  18. My Dad shipped out in 2002 at 79. My son is in Seattle engineering software for the big online retailer and my just married daughter is living about three miles away. Guess which one I'll see this Sunday.
  19. ALL Thompson/Center Arms ICON®, VENTURE® and DIMENSION™ rifles manufactured before June 13, 2013. DESCRIPTION OF THE HAZARD: Thompson/Center Arms has identified a condition where the safety lever in certain rifles may bind preventing the safety from becoming fully engaged. In this situation, closing the bolt may move the safety to the fire position. The rifle will not fire unless the trigger is pulled. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are initiating this recall to allow for the prompt inspection and, if necessary, the repair of each rifle. DESCRIPTION
  20. More sources are a good thing. Starting to see a lot of Serbian, Israeli and Aussie showing up, too. Prices will eventually turn the curve.
