Given that prices won't drop for a while even if this all blows over, I likely will get into reloading soon. Any recommendations on a good guide book? I do 'moscow match' slugs now with wally world bulk birdshot, so its not entirely new to me.
If you are going to get into reloading soon, you better do it... well, soon. Like after the current panic subsides, but before the next one hits. Timing is everything. If you do take the plunge into reloading, develop a direction and a plan, and when you spot a good deal on components, buy and buy till it hurts.
It is good to have several reloading manuals, but a good one to start with as far as an introduction into technique and safe practices is the Lyman manual. A lot of load data and info can be had online, too.

Sorry, but Constitutional rights aren't just supposed to apply to "citizens" of the United States. The whole idea behind the Bill of Rights was legal recognition of pre-existing rights. You can't just get rid of someone because you don't like what they say, any more than you can take someone's firearms because you don't think they need something scary.
I agree. There is no constitutional basis for Piers deportation. But putting the shoe on the other foot, even briefly, can be a worthwhile pursuit. After the Supreme Court case Kelo vs. New London Ct there was a petition to declare eminent domain on Justice Stevens house and evict him.
Anyone who is not familiar with this case should look it up, it's a real eye popper.
Piers Morgan will likely be around for a long time to come, like a really bad smell.

Don't look at me, I haven't bought any .223 lately. I have a quantity in sealed battle packs as a standard buffer, and I'm still loading my own .223 from pre-'99 primers with red and orange bands on the white packaging.

I'm building a 300 BLK bolt gun on a Savage Model 12 Varmint .223 that I bought as a donor rifle. I am setting this up as a 600 yard rifle, subsonic or super, and it will be suppressed.
The Savage stock is shit. After 3 months of waiting, my choice of replacement stock became available yesterday. I bought it immediately. It is now out of stock again.

I bought them some time ago, all during a period of calm.
I am currently in the market for a 500 S&W Handi-Rifle. Plan to order it after Christmas. This single shot rifle is very, very low on the ban list, but I'm going to get the barrel cut down to Title I minimum, then get it threaded to accept my VERS50 Suppressor. Barrel threading could be on the hit list, so I'm going to waste little time getting it done.

Filled out the paper work for a Remington 870 AOW on June 9th, still no word from dealer yet.

How do I go about it, this is my first NFA iteam so its all new to me.
Call 304 616-4500. Tell the receptionist who answers you want to check on the status of your item. They will ask for the serial #, your name, and the business name of the dealer. They will then give you a status. Remember, be nice.

Read the title. It pretty much sums it up.
My netbook took a crap but was under a best-buy warranty. They gave me an in-store credit and I picked up this new POS that has windows 8.
The fuckin' thing wants a ton of personal info just to set it up (now I have a PC named "Get Fucked") and if I want to customize stuff, I get to waste a shitload of time re-learning how to run the fuckin' thing.
Sure, if I had no life, or nothing better to do, like the mountain of work I need to get done... That might be a fun new adventure, learning new things and challanging myself, but unfortunately, I DO have better shit to do, so this sucks ass.
I pray Gates comes to Portland someday & I run into him. Multi-billionare or no, I plan to smack the everloving shit out of the guy should I ever get the opportunity.
That being said, if anybody has the personal info of the cocksucker who runs apple, I'd about be willing to drive a thousand miles to stomp that fucker down after I-tunes recently jacked another couple hundred dollars worth of music from my MP-3 library.
Why the hell do these fuckers have to screw everything up as soon as we finally get proficient with shit? I just don't get it.

Do yourself a Really Big Fucking Favor, go to http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/ , download, install, follow some basic instructions, tweak it somewhat and don't look back. Windows 8 does boot up fast, but the layout is a Gay~ Emo~ wetdream. I mean, WTF is with the Charm Bar? Who would dream that shit up?

could be why it takes 6 months to get form 1s back, all you guys calling about your status keeps them from processing the forms. they probably spend 4 hours of a 8 hour work day on the phone.
As has been pointed out, the receptionists do not process and are not involved with processing item documentation. Verifying item status is part of their job.
As to "not calling being easier", I have heard of Forms disappearing after check cashing, sometimes for months. Rare, but it happens. Pending means the form has been entered into the system. Prior to the Form being entered, they can't bring it up on computer, at least the department that processes.
I have 1rst hand been on the receiving end of Bureaucratic SNAFUs in the past, so I am always skeptical of government and that government will just get it done. I merely want to verify that my item is in the queue. My tax dollars help pay these folks salaries. I don't pester, I am always extremely polite to them, but I will continue to verify.

Ever hear of that one? Well, you have now.
I called today to check on the status of an Item, a Bowers Vers50, to see if it went Pending. It had, on 11/26/12. I always verify my items go Pending. When I do, I check on any item near approval.
When I asked about another Item that went Pending on on 7/7/12, the answer was "Pending Approval, as of today, November 30th."
When I mentioned to Linda, the NFA Receptionist that I was talking to, that I had never heard of that, Linda said, "Pending Approval is a new step in the process. Pending Approval means the item will be approved within 30 days of that date."

Have you also considered getting a Pistol and/or Personal Protection in the Home certification? Indiana is a CCW state. Also, a RSO certification would be a good idea for you too.

So, I couldn't take a NFA from Missouri to say Land of Lincoln and shoot it all day and come back. It would need to remained cased in Illinois correct?
In a case or out of the case, if you take a NFA item to Illinois, there is a chance you would never come back.

I went into Walmart about 2am one Sunday Morning and picked up 8 Federal Value Packs. These are kept unlocked in the Walmarts around here, and this particular Walmart at least doesn't give a shit when you buy it. Walk around a Walmart with 800 rounds of 12 ga in you cart at 2am, even the wee hour freaks give you a wide berth.
Anyway, I fucked up somehow and 2 of them were 20 ga. I went back the next day. It took some wrangling, but I was able to exchange them.
