  1. It's not as bad as all that. I meet a lot of sharp individuals at my Club's range. We are open to the public and people come from miles around. Only place around to shoot 1K yards. The idiots just tend to stand out more. As a result I have a wide range of firearms interests, and it continues to widen. Saw my 1rst converted S-12 doing dumps at that range. I was about 30 yards down the line. I remember saying to myself, "I really don't know what the Fuck that is, but I've gotta have one!"
  2. Shooting .50 BMG. "Wow, you can shoot airplanes down with that thing." When I explain that it would be very unlikely and the reasons why, they are invariably disappointed!
  3. 1. Just because someone is a LEO, does not mean they are proficient with firearms. Boils down to individual attitude and individual nature. 2. Just because someone has received training, does not mean the training is retained. Boils down to - the same as before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeGD7r6s-zU
  4. I just bought a rifle online Saturday. Planned purchase, a Savage Mark II FVSR, to host my .22 can. Not too fired up about future firearm purchases just yet. Ammo and components however, now that is a different story. Never can go wrong buying ammo, if it is a fair deal. I buy very little ammo online, some 7.62x39, but mostly .22 CCI Standard, because Walmart doesn't carry it. I reload everything else. That leaves components. A box of projectiles is like a paperweight. Primers and powder are very traceable though, i.e. the HAZMAT paperwork. But, when stored properly, they hav
  5. We once had a source for good meat rabbits, cleaned. For many years it was our Easter tradition to eat a good rabbit dinner. But, the meat rabbit operation shut down a while back. This post makes me crave a good meat rabbit. Better than squirrel, but squirrel makes a good gravy.
  6. I don't think you understand what I was trying to say. I was just asking if purchasing a purchasing a BATF stamp firearm is a good idea, because the government would come uh' knockin' if SHTF in that sense. No felonies here.. I have a some of both. I got my WASR from Gander, and I bought my S-12 from MD Arms off Gunbroker a while back, so I could kiss those babies goodbye, unless I sell them if I ever get word SHHTF (first H is for has). Damn, very informative replies! Thanks, that helped clear everything up, but now I need to ask a new question: if I do the form 1 rou
  7. Now that my SBR AR is pending, I'm starting to dread the inevitable, ferocious muzzleblast. Actually, I have not noticed the muzzleblast while shooting my 12" S-12 SBS, because I have such a blast myself! Anyone that wants to talk muzzleblast should try shooting 80 or so rounds in a day from a .50 BMG. The blast wave and subsequent effects can be mitigated somewhat by proper shooting technique, but a day of shooting will still wear on a body. Especially if one shoots the Iron Man division at a .50 BMG match, shoot all four classes, Light, Heavy, Hunter, & Unlimited. Total round co
  8. For reloading, yes. Reloading areas should not have a very low humidity. Static Electricity. That also pertains to primer storage.
  9. No offense to anyone here intended, but I would not live in any one of those states, if someone set me up there with a house and a high paying guaranteed job for life.
  10. What the Fuck is this individual's excuse? He is here in Florida, a gun friendly state. Move over Bronies, meet the REAL Peter Pan! WARNING! WARNING NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!
  11. Yes, and Handcrafted Match .308 runs about $.53 a round. Plus your up-front equipment investment and whatever you think your time is worth for round development and production time. If you shoot a lot it is worth it. If you don't shoot multiple thousands of rounds a year it might not be. 1000 rounds. That could pay off a fairly decent entry level reloading setup. Not to mention the knowledge gleaned about what makes for an accurate round. As to the time spent, saving money and being a Student of the Gun, seems like a decent hobby to me.
  12. I have a CMMG upper, pistol gas, free floating barrel with factory railed hand guard. Runs great. Sent it in to Liberty Suppressors for a Leonidas build. http://libertycans.net/leonidas.html But, my Leonidas will not be a true Integral. The Can will be threaded to the now 9" barrel, not pinned. The assembled firearm will be a 2 stamp gun. I also bought a Savage Model 12 FLV in .223. I bedded and mounted a Ken Farrel 40 moa rail. http://www.kenfarrel...V-RTS-1-40.html I have a deposit on and am waiting for a threaded 16" SS 300 BLK barrel for my Savage. When built, this will be a
  13. I just had a F-4 arrive on 6/25 Check cleared today, 6/28. Glad you could use the info.
  14. CCI Quiet-22 LR 40 gr @ 720fps. Won't cycle your Ruger but will hand feed from the mag. Very quiet from a can. http://www.midwayusa...-nose-box-of-50
  15. Pearce +2 base plate. Nothing like that available for HK, at least that I know of. Just curious. I knew the FNP45 had the highest factory capacity at 15+1 That's a lot of .45 in the grip! One of the many pistols I purchased and sold. What a nightmare. Jams, loose as a goose and it even made noise in transit. So tacticool! LOL See my post above. I wouldn't carry a HK if they gave them away.
  16. I bought a USP 40 some years back. It jammed at least once per box of ammo. I sent it back. Called HK 2 months later, was told very arrogantly that there was no way they had gotten to my pistol that quick. The HK Customer Service Fuckhead never even bothered to verify the pistol's status. Made me wonder how many returns they had. The next day my FFL called, the pistol had arrived, it was indeed ready. I went and picked it up, rushed it to the range. There was a definite difference in the pistol's performance. The USP 40 no longer jammed once a box, now it jammed once a MAG! Very co
  17. I walked out my back door yesterday eve and rapped off a couple mags into the grass, just to check the tone. You can take my word for it, she sounds sweet! Time to pull out the MP15-22. You can call the NFA at 304 616-4500 and check your item's status. Good luck!
  18. I don't sell a gun unless it is a piece of shit,(as in HK USP 40, and YESit was) or I really have no use for it and I don't enjoy shooting it.
  19. I called the NFA and spoke with Mary. Then I called my FFL/SOT and talked with the FFL of the partnership.
  20. Here is my Kodiak TL on the counter at my SOT. My F-4 went Pending on 1-12-12. Approved 6-11-12. Received 6-15-12. SOT OUT OF TOWN UNTIL THURSDAY!!! I'll be sending another F-4 out on Friday.
