You, the maker, send in a Form 1 in duplicate, an ATF Form 5330.20, a $200 check, and a copy of your trust. One day, don't hold your breath, you will receive one of your Form 1s with the Tax Stamp affixed. Mine is due any day. :-)

Taurus came out with a 28 ga. Judge awhile back. Word was they got BATF exemption, but it has never went into production. If that is so, wonder why they let that R&D go to waste? Not to mention the BATF approval. http://www.gunsameri...gauge-revolver/ I heard all they got was approval to import the sample at SHOT. ATF does a lot of their stuff through letters. Which are effectively secret. And every so often the ATF says, "Oh, our bad, that's really a machine gun. Please turn them all in to be destroyed." Oh, I agree, totally. This .50 BMG DIY kit caused quite a few

Really? Someone should have told John Linebaugh. http://www.loaddata....eloading%20Data Really. Either ATF didn't care on that one and never bothered to pursue it, or it was designated a sporting cartridge. Being over .50 does not automatically mean it's a DD - that's up to the AG. A search of ATF rulings turns up nothing in this regard. It does however, mostly seem to lead to the below article, whenever someone brings up the "little known ruling. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0BQY/is_8_51/ai_n14694946/ I've got to take Gary's tack here, what ruling? You an attorney? Although I may be wrong, I believe what you've conveyed is incorrect. I've never heard or read where the caliber of a firearm determines its legal status as either a handgun or a long gun. My personal experience is derived from having a .308 Win / .338 FED bolt action "pistol" built from the ground up. Reference the photo below: I was able to have this done legally, due to the Savage Arms action being 'non-designated' from the factory. Once the action arrived to my FFL Dealer, I was required to register it either as a handgun or a long gun. Once registered

PLEASE point us to the section/title/code (etc.) of the National Firearms Act (NFA) and/or ATF Rule (etc.) that addresses what you've just written. The diameter of a firearm's barrel or bore doesn't mean SQUAT that I am aware of. http://www.atf.gov/regulations-rulings/rulings/atf-rulings/atf-ruling-94-1.pdf

Incremental Load Development Method

Yes, that is amazing. I only paid like $225 for it, on sale. It is a Sony DCR-SX85 Handicam 60x Optical Zoom, boosted to 70x. It is very small, I can't figure how they get the focal length for that kind of magnification. -

That is the berm of the 1000 yard line of the Manatee Gun Range @ 1017 yards. Hopefully you watched until I pulled back at the end of the video. It was the wind that was fierce for me today, 15 to 25 mph gusts, kite flying weather. And , thanks! -

I took this video today. There are 3 claybirds just right of center, near vertically centered. They are in a L shape. The 3rd bird I hit was covered with dirt from the 2nd shot and is hard to make out due to the video upload resolution, but it was there. Shots 4 & 5 are aimed at pieces you can't see in the video. This video is unedited because I wanted continuity. Please excuse the pace, it is worth watching to the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x_R4aEpOnA -
I have Lee Dies for 500 S&W, .50 Beowulf, & 300 BLK. Also a .45 ACP Carbide Factory Crimp, a must for reliable loads in my Kimber Match. I have always been very satisfied with these dies and the rounds they load. Hands down, Lee is the best value in carbide dies, new calibers, and not so common, hard to get dies.

New to reloading, have questions.
1mile50 replied to MCASgt New River's topic in Reloading and Ammunition
Mistakes can be made using a single stage too. Usually it either is a double charge of fast powder or an empty case-no charge that is missed when reviewing the charged cases. Another really bad mistake is priming a loaded round after finding a missed primer. Many progressive users attach a small mirror to their press which allows them to see the charges of powder as the cases pass under. My Dillon 650 has a Powder Check installed. Simple and fool proof, it sounds a very distinct alarm if the charge is light, or heavy, http://ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UafkPd06_F0 -

I don't have an opinion on the Hornady Progressive, but loading auto pistol, especially 9mm, on a single stage is a tedious, time consuming PITA. With carbide dies lube is not required, but does make sizing easier. The Hornady One Shot case lube is fast and convenient and adequate for smaller cases. Before they made 1 Shot I made my own, dissolving Lee Case Lube with 90% alcohol in a spray bottle. Large cases, like my .378 WBY and 50 BMG, I use Imperial. There are powders that can be used in both, but there are other powders that perform best in one or the other. http://www.alliantpo -

Sheriff election. Any good ways to anonymously find out what candidate
1mile50 replied to bassackwards's topic in NFA Section
It's a safe bet that my getting a Trust was no waste of time. NEW PORT RICHEY -- An early morning drug raid led to four arrests Friday and the confiscation of a cache of firearms that included assault weapons, handguns and at least one pistol with a silencer that a Pasco sheriff's lieutenant likened to "something you would see in a spy movie." http://www2.tbo.com/news/breaking-news/2012/feb/10/pasco-deputies-confiscate-large-cache-of-weapons-i-ar-357482/ -
Incremental Load Development Method
1mile50 replied to Rhodes1968's topic in Reloading and Ammunition
Rhoades, Hunting bullets have different profiles. Loading for hunting has different expectations, different requirements. Match bullets are differing in nature, too. They like different chambers, different bullet jumps. Not to mention tight neck chambers, bore rider chambers, or hybrids. The pressure wave of the combustion generates the vibration of the barrel. If the wave is nearly identical each time, so will be the vibration.~ Getting extreme velocity spread low is very hard. It requires a lot of work to get it right. Running back and forth to a target is a waste of time -
Incremental Load Development Method
1mile50 replied to Rhodes1968's topic in Reloading and Ammunition
Long range accurate rifle shooting is a complex, multifaceted endeavor. I can't condense it into an article. I can and am willing to engage in a discussion on the subject. Load development is but one facet. If the other facets are not squared away, starting with the basics, load development will be a waste of time. I don't believe in Fucking around, especially where firearms are concerned. 1rst, and I know it goes without saying, don't believe everything you read, and that is from me included. There are many items that are requirements, as is there are many operations that are procedure. -
Incremental Load Development Method
1mile50 replied to Rhodes1968's topic in Reloading and Ammunition
Groups shot at 300 yards don't mean squat at 1000. Accurate loads for 1000 yards demand a low extreme velocity spread. 10 fps or less. Or, you get vertical stringing. That takes work, and part of the equation is a high load density which gives consistent burn. Also, higher velocities mean shorter transit time from rifle to target (less environmental influence) and bullet B.C.s tend to range higher at higher velocities. This is only part of what I did not see in this article. My experience has been that interpreting ladder tests on a target is a waste of time. It's all happening at th -
Whose still reloads and what's your setup?
1mile50 replied to YARP's topic in Reloading and Ammunition
The RCBS Rockchucker, because it is basic and dependable, Dillon 650, for when volume and time is of the essence, and the Corbin Mega Mite, to load whatever is too large for the rest. Also, the Corbin to swage my own projectiles, should the need arise. -

You could get a suppressor for your SBR, that will take care of most of the increased muzzle flash. Look into a caliber that minimizes velocity loss, such as the 300 BLK. I just tested my new 300 BLK upper today. I will be submitting a Form 1 for the lower that I'm using it on, and a Form 4 for the suppressor, soon.

My choice, the Ruger MKIII 22/45. I also have a SS 22/45 that I bought back in '91. I am going to get the barrel threaded. And, I bought a S&W MP 15-22 for a host rifle.
