  1. I'm with you on this one. Just make one out of the original. I bend mine to work like this. Thanks for the illustration Hawk. Very helpful!
  2. Thanks Gunfixr, some pics would be great.
  3. Maybe I am over thinking this. Thanks for the pic nalioth. I am sweating this restoration a bit but feel good that I now have all the 'required' parts. Seams like everything is on backorder these days. Hope I can pick some brains here in the spring when my garage warms up and I can use my drill press without my hand freezing to the damn thing.
  4. So I would attach an E-Clip inside the receiver on each pin or just the trigger pin?
  5. I finally have all the necessary parts for my first RESTORATION of my S12. I decided to jump in with both feet and move the FCG. Even with no experience. I would not even be considering this restoration if not for the knowledge gained from this site and the experts here. I have the Tromix modified FCG which comes with the shepherds crook but I have heard a lot of guys use the Krebs retainer. I am a complete novice at this but wish to do the best job possible. I just was wondering the advantages/disadvantages to the Krebs part. Thanks All. "My eyebrows aint plucked there's a
  6. I have used the Remington OO buck 9 shot law enforcement with great success. I image it is very similar.
  7. I don't know about the others reasons but mine is quite simple. This is a great new hobby for me. I have always enjoyed building things and fixing things and the shooting sports. This just seems like a natural combination. I only wish I had discover it long ago instead of what appears to be a couple months before it is outlawed. ( F#*@king liberals)
  8. Thanks again all. I spoke with the seller and it seams I do have the Tromix Modified one after all. The Tapco I.D. threw me off. I have since learned that Tony uses the original Tapco G2 and modifies it. Probably a pretty newb mistake. This is my first conversion and I truly appreciate the advise received on this site. Maybe I'l try the Texas Trigger on my next one.
  9. Thanks guys. I have read the threads regarding the Tapco and was hoping to avoid the grinding with the Tromix modified one I ordered. So the one I was sent is not the Tromix modified one?
  10. Hi All, I ordered and received a FCG for my first conversion today. I ordered the Tromix FCG but think I was sent the Tapco FCG. Trigger and hammer are both stamped Tapco USA. Does Tony modify the Tapcos or are his clearly marked Tromix? I compared the hammer to the one in my gun and there is more metal on the top of the hammer on the Tapco that I have then the one in the gun. Is there a way to be sure that I got the correct (Tromix)FCG and not a standard Tapco by mistake? Thanks
  11. Thanks guys. This numbers game is about as clear as mud. I still may do the chaos "puck" and the front hand guard when it comes available. I am a big believer in "over kill". I really appreciate the sharing of knowledge. Thanks again!
  12. I am gathering the parts for my S12 conversion. Tromix FCG, Tapco stock, Tapco pistol grip. Tromix DIY trigger guard and an AGP 10 rounder. Do I have enough US parts and eliminate enough Russian parts to permit legal use of Izmash 5 Rounders. I have three and still would like to use them. I still can order a Chaos gas piston if that helps the count and permits use of the 5s. Could also replace front hand guard if the Tromix Galils are ever back in stock. What's the consensus on this? P.S. I chose the Tromix DIY guard over the Saigatech because of there reputation and participation on
  13. I should have know that this was discussed in depth. Sorry for the Newbie question. Just want to get this thing right. Thanks for the input.

  15. Hello All, I have been getting my conversion list together and came across this guy. I know Tromix makes a DIY trigger guard but I kind of like the "meatyer" design of the one on this site. Any input would be welcome. Thanks http://www.saigatechusa.com/ oops forgot the link
  16. Add another wheel, a platform and an electric motor and you have created the worlds first assault Segway!
  17. Thanks Shooter. I was admiring your set-up in the gallery. Very pretty piece! Can you recommend web store for those and what are you using around the foregrip to hold the pressure switch in place?
  18. Good morning all. I was hoping one of you fine gentleman could recommend a sturdy barrel mount Piccatiny/Weaver rail and a good tactical flashlight for Saiga12. 19. OK, I have been soaking up all the information and I think I have this right. I would greatly appreciate confirmation by those with more experience. Remove Factory stock and replace with Tromix Folding stock with pistol grip assembly from MAA - 1 part Replace factory magazine with AGP or Surefire from MAA - 3 parts Replace factory barrel thread guard with Tromix Flash Hider or Multichoke - 1 part Replace gas piston with US made Gas piston - Chaos SS version. - 1 part If I did my homework this should be compliant. Please let me know if it is or not. I will purchase anot

Can't wait to convert. not sure if I will give it a try myself or send it out to one of the talented gentleman on this site.

After several weeks of learning every thing I could about the Saiga 12 from this site and others, I finally bought one. I just had the chance to shoot it today for the first time and I think that is the most fun I have had with my clothes on in quite some time. I was very concerned about the FTE issues I was reading about and was preparing for the worst but the thing ran like a swiss clock. Not a single FTE with Remington 00 buckshot on setting 2. I want to thank everyone who contributes their knowledge on this site and I look forward to posting more and learning more about this awesome
