  1. I'm in Southern Utah- St. George, to be exact. I'd like help/guidance/whatever to convert my .223, and am willing to travel a ways to find said help. Southern Nevada, Northern AZ even, or any southern Utah help around? Would like to do a full conversion. Thanks!
  2. Anyone in the Southern Utah, Southern Nevada area know how to convert and willing to meet up for a hands on training? I can get the parts, but I'm wary of modifying for my first time ever on a rifle that I love so much. I'm in St. George, Utah, and can travel to meet...
  3. So what is the "plastic door molding fix"? I can't get the pics on that old link to pull up any pictures of how to do this. It'd sure be nice to NOT have a big dent in the side... Anyone have a step-by-step for molding, or the pics that were shown before? Thanks!
  4. This is a "full conversion". When complete, the Saiga cannot be distinguished from a factory Kalashnikov w/o close observation. This is a "basic conversion" When complete, the Saiga has it's balance and ergonomics returned to the designers wishes. Both conversions should utilize the correct amount of US parts to satisfy 922r. Okay, that decides it for me- I want to do a full conversion. What parts are required? Is there a list somewhere? I'm aware of the 922 rules, and I assume a full conversion will fulfill the requirements, correct?
  5. I was LMAO at Wheel and saigafun's comments about manhood and sissification and being a "butter fingered sissy-man". Seriously, guys, that was a good laugh. Now, I have a serious question. ALthough I am moderately proficient with power tools, I have seldom used a dremel. I'm sure I can master the art. What I lack, though, is the "how-to" of conversions. What parts make up a full conversions? I mean, if I said I wanted to do a full conversion, what parts would I order, from where, and how do I drill/grind/punch/cut my Saiga to make it all work. I love my rifle, and the thoug
  6. I've been looking for a saiga 12 gauge. Found a dealer who says he'll sell a NIB saiga 12 for $700. Is this too much? It seems that way to me, but I usually find great deals and am used to paying much less than market rates. My questions are: Is this too much for a NIB? What IS a good market price? Anyone know where I can get a better deal right now? Thanks for the info!
  7. I don't generally read the 7.62 or .308 board, etc. I figure there are folks like me that also don't read the other boards. As scarce as all Saigas have been at a decent price, I thought I would make sure to spread the word. I just caled them, and they said they only have .223s in stock- was I too late, or what?
  8. I was recently made aware of this site that consolidates the activities of our lawmakers in action. http://www.ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm How likely is this now with our current powers that be?
  9. I'm till pretty new hre myself, but I am under the impression that adding a hi-cap mag makes a NIB saiga illegal with the 922 compliance. True? No? parts make it a -1? Just wanted to know for my self, as I haven't modified mine yet. Thanks!
  10. K-var, I've been meaning to ask- What is that avatar pic a pic of? I can't figure what I'm looking at in his hands...
  11. I went out and shot again, both the wolf and the remington. Both are fmj. I'll be honest, after 30 rounds of each I didn't see any difference other than the exit points, when shot at 75 yards. My .223 wasn't very dirty either. I'd say no different than the last time I cleaned it after only remington rounds. Did I just get a cleaner batch? To anyone that has shot a lot of brands- what is the best performer for plinking or for hunting? I want to skip the crap ammo and go with what you know works. Thanks guys!
  12. So I've been shooting the remington fmj 55gr and been having a lot of fun with it. I have also read that Wolf ammo is decent so when I happened across 8 boxes of 20 rounds for 7 bucks I decided, okay I'll try it. We went out to our regular shooting field, equipt with some various targets, my favorite being an empty propane bottle, and started shooting. The remington went in and out with generally the same diameter holes, but when I went to the Wolf, the exit hole was 2 times as large as the entrance hole. So my question, is this a good sign, or a bad sign? Expansion is good fo
