    Lubrication

Sure have and I use it...in everything. I first saw it demonstrated in a trade show about 15 years ago. I was so impressed that I purchased one bottle to use in my motorcycle. I was about to ride my bike to Myrtle Beach in August along with a friend who had an identical bike. I serviced both before the trip and added 4 oz of Militec-1 to mine but not his. In stop & go traffic, his temp increased and the electric fan was running continuosly. My fan never came on and the temp stayed normal. I was a true believer and became a distributor. He was so impressed he bought 6 bottles from m
  5. Same here. I have a ghost site to install when ever I get it removed. I was thinking about putting some heat to it.
  6. I have issues and would like to contact Surefire but their web site does not have any contact information (unless I am overlooking it). Anyone have contact info?

  10. Brain at Dinzag has some 74 style brakes that he can leave the threaded insert out so it is a slide on and weld on application. I have one coming for the .410 and 12.
  11. Sam1Clt, yes it can be done. I did it on my 12. I had the 2 ports on the right side partically covered. I removed the puck and filled the tube with cloth then used a small round cutting bit to open up the area above those two holes. You can work the bit right down into the opening of the holes. Be sure to go back and run a small wire through the holes to remove any particles from the grinding the clean well. I can see all 4 now and did not have to remove the gas tube and block.
  12. Thanks, Cobra. Big Bro is going under the knife for some major work in the next couple weeks. Bling and Sting baby.
  13. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=36030 Guns & Roses for Valentine's Day. I posted this in the Saiga-12 section but thought the .410 owners would enjoy it also.
  14. I converted a Saiga .410 and gave it to my wife along with roses for Valentine's Day. Here's picture of me holding Big Bro (Saiga-12) and Donna holding Little Sis (Saiga .410).
  15. I talked to Tony today about this. One thing he asked me was how far my gun ejected the shells. Makes sense that would be a clue as to how much a gun is gassing. If the shells are hitting the ground 4 feet away, it probably will not like a shorter barrel. If they're hitting 20 feet away, they may be room for reducing the barrel. Just a simple but good rule of thumb. Thanks, Tony. I was also thinking, if the gun will shoot light loads on gas plug setting 1, it would seem there room to play with. I'll have to go out and check what my gun does before I do any cutting.
  16. I just did one 2 days ago. I used the Tromix modifed drop in G2 FCG. The only problem I had was the hole for the trigger needed to be opened up slightly in the front and a small slot added to the corner for the 2nd hook (double hook). You'll see when you drop the trigger in. Suggestion: drop the trigger in first and install the pin and see if you can move the trigger or if you need to open the hole. That will be easier than doing it after you install the hammer. The dentral floss trick on the BHO spring worked great.
  17. Wow, that one must have been built on the first day back from Mid-Summer fest holiday.
  18. I got the Tromix drop in FCG for the PG converstion. Everything is supposed to be ready to drop in the .410 with BHO. When I drop the trigger and disconnector in, it's so tight it will not move at all. The bottom of the trigge assembly is sitting flat on the bottom of the receiver housing. Do I need to open the hole for the trigger up more? I have not seen where anyone else had done that................OK, I guess " drop in" is like "bolt in (some modifications may be required). I did have to open the front of the hole up to allow trigger movement. Also the new trigger has double lat
  19. New .410. 2-1/2" shells will not feed. They jamb on the top of the chamber every time. 3" works fine. I thought my gun should be able to fire both. How do I know if it should feed 2-1/2"?
  20. Is this confirmed? Anything less than 18" requires mods to the gas system? I was hoping to go to about 14 without messing with the gas.
  21. Thanks for posting. Just did my .410 and the video was a big help. There were differences and I had to open up the trigge hole more and make a slot for the 2nd latch on the trigger to come through. Now I know why there was no sound with the video.....it's so we would not hear all the foul language during the conversion. Excuse me now while I go wash my mouth out with soap. Whew!
  22. Trying to remove the stock on my .410. I removed the two screws that are visible from the outside; one on the top tang and one on the botton tang. I removed the dust cover and recoil spring then removed the third screw that was under the recoil spring. Are there any more? Stock does not want to come out. Thought I would check before I got tough on it..................scratch that. Got a bigger hammer. It's all good now.
  23. How short can you go before having to modify the gas system? I was thinking about a 12" - 14" barrel. Should it still cycle normal at that lenght?
  24. I have both and I also read a different train of thought. First let me say I started looking for the simple 12 ga pump for home defense. Then read about how good a .410 is for home defense. It's easier to store and handle, especially by women, but has plenty of power to stop an intruder. Think about it, if your goal is to totally destroy an intruder beyond recognition, or kill zombies in the night, the 12 ga would be better. But anyone getting hit with .410 buck shot is not going to keep coming at you. Even a hit from light load bird shot is enough to send an intruder on his way, es
