  1. Thanks to each of you for the timely responses. I will stick with my original PG plan and go ahead and sell the Galil/R4 parts. My best. Tex
  2. I have an unfired 7.62 that I tore down for a pistol grip conversion in 2005 that I just got back around to and as I was rummaging through my AK stuff found a box with a bunch of Galil/R4 parts. Was wondering if it is feasible to convert the 7.62 to a Galil/Valmet type clone and any recommendations for a competent smith. If not, I'll toss the Galil/R4 parts. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tex

Thanks much for the link, Gaddis. superA, you and I must shop in the same high -rent district. I guess I got a deal at $14,700, huh? Tex
  4. Do you think 'someone' on this forum would be kind enough to do that for me? Nice try! I would. I'd just set it in the back of the safe and there is would be until you decided you wanted it back. My daughters never-been-fired Polytech AK is still back there. Bought it when she was 8 mos. old. She is 7 now and it still has not been fired. I hoping she might this year!! Semper Fi, LB. Tex

  12. I've had a NIB Saiga .410 for 4 years, waiting to do this conversion. I would love to see how it is done. Tex
  13. I'm still working on this project, but have opted for the Smith Enterprises Vortex FH, as the Drag FH was too small in diameter. The Vortex should increase the accuracy potential. Tex
  14. what kind of magazines did it use? What capacity are we looking at here? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cvasqu03, I'll get details on mags and capacity when I take my Saiga to him in the near future. Tex

  16. I saw 2 AK's in this caliber, yesterday. No, it was not an April fool's joke. These were bonafied. Now, I GOTTA' HAVE ONE!!!!!! So, I'm gonna take the new, unfired Saiga 7.62 that I've had for a couple of years and do this conversion. I'll keep ya'll updated. I had questions about excess pressure and he explained that, in fact, the pressures were so low that he had to open the gas port quite a bit. In addition to the .50's he showed me a couple of quick change barrel/caliber conversions for the FAL. This guy is quite the machinist. He even molds his own magwell adapters out of urethane
  17. I received three t-hole stocks, today, from Indyarms. They were as advertised and I am well pleased. Thanks, Indy. Tex

  19. vulcan762, Where might I find one of these sight bases? Is the height the same for both the Saiga and Polytech bases, i.e., would I have point of aim issues using the Poly sight base? Thanks. Tex
