  1. From HB 5038 The phrase, "...pursuant to that license or any renewal of that license ...", would seem to refer to a CPL as opposed to a permit to purchase. I guess we'll see if and when it is signed into law. -Centerfire
  2. theblackcat, Thanks for posting the link. I see that the bill that you linked to is part of legislation that includes two other bills. HB 4501 defines a pistol as any gun under 26" in length rather than 30". HB 4502 makes it illegal to sell a gun over 26" in length to a minor. HB 5038, that you linked to, grandfathers the carry of a weapon between 26" and 30" as a pistol for anyone that both had a CPL and had such a rifle or shotgun prior to the law going into effect. I'm posting this because I was very puzzled by the language in the bill you linked to until I read, "Enacting sect
  3. Bvamp, You won't have to ship a gun with no stock. Michigan considers any gun under 30" in overall length to be a pistol. They also measure the gun in the shortest configuration in which it can be fired. A S-12 with the 19" barrel and a folding stock will qualify as a pistol in Michigan. If you ship him a gun with the basic conversion, (i.e. no folding stock and a 22" barrel), he can modify the gun with the folder and a shorter barrel after taking possession of the weapon and then register it in Michigan as a pistol. -Centerfire
  4. Guero, Just wondering where you got these stats. I knew the 12C's were rare but I didn't think they were quite that unusual. Any idea why the difficulty in converting to the 12C? -Centerfire
  5. Quest84, I think your idea of building an S-12 is all around smarter. For the price that you'd have to pay today for a genuine 12C you could have a highly customized S-12 built just about any way you want. -Centerfire
  6. Sounds like an opinion to me. I didn't say the gun was, "unuseable" or "dangrerous" or any other such thing that would imply that I had used the gun extensively. I have just enough knowledge about this firearm to say that it felt like some of the cheap kit bullpups that have been referenced earlier in this thread. Those things are monstrosities in my opinion. I like the basic idea of a bullpup design but not all bullpups are created equal. And that's also my opinion and I'm sticking to it. -Centerfire
  7. Azrial, I have no interest in a pissing contest. That said, I would not presume to judge anything soley on a wikipedia article and a small picture. What I expressed was just my opinion about a particular firearm that I have handled briefly at a gunshow years ago. The buttstock sucked, and the trigger (only dry fired by me) was horrible, even by bullpup standards. If you like yours, that's just fantastic. If everyone liked the same type of gun, there wouldn't be literally thousands of different models available to choose from. -Centerfire
  8. How about legalizing SBS and SBR's and charging a tax on top of what the Fed's already do? Do you suppose Jenny would go for that?
  9. +1 for the AUG. As for brass in the face of lefties, get a left hand bolt for the AUG.
  10. I agree with both points. The High Standard is a monstrosity of a firearm and it would take someone very talented to create a conversion for the S-12 into a Bullpup that didn't absoutely suck.
  11. Did that to my Saiga with no problems. My barrel is 18.375" and the length with the stock folded is 27.625" if I recall. They make you pay to have the permit notarized?! Damn, the whole registration scheme in this state is bad enough but that sucks even harder!
  12. Let me guess... You're a lefty... errr, left handed?
  13. Sounds like a business opportunity. Maybe you could develop a Saiga-12 bullpup?
