  4. Hello, I am going to purchase the "6 Position CBS Stock with Aluminum Tube for AK47 Stamped Receive" from MAA for my conversion. I did like the tapco T6 one i had because i like the telescopic option. I do want something that is going to be solid against my shoulder and it needs to be a nice straight look, not bent in anyway. I was just wondering if anyone has anything to say about this particular item. Or any suggestions to something similar. Thank You in Advance Here is the linky.... http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=308 Any suggestions or revie
  5. i am wondering, i replaced my fore end grip with the chaos quad rail...in sacsucks link it mentions a hole that might need to be plugging...any reliability in that? "One thing I did not see anywhere on the Saiga forum is awareness of the small gas vent hole on the gas block hidden by the foreend on the left side (barrel facing left). If you remove the plastic factory foreend and replace it with another, you may notice that you lose reliability on ejects, like a complete loss of pressure when you eject. This is caused by a lack of back pressure provided by the close proximity of the factory
  6. wow, thank you for that link...very helpful. Not finished with it yet. Figured it was under gassed i know Cobra does work for the polishing and JeffD has a nice post about FTE issue i am looking into. This is what my gas holes look like...if you click the link and enlarge you can see where i added the spot where the 3rd hole is slightly visible. Seems like the barrel is just twisted.. Thanks for the info, gonna keep reading
  7. I brought my S12 to the range for the first time last night. I have not done any mods that would effect the FTE issue...just rails, t6 stock ect.. First i shot 5 rounds from the factory Magazine with Federal Premium Vital-Shok Rifled Slugs 2 3/4 1oz 1600fps With no issue on setting 2 Then i loaded up a surefire 12rd mag with Royal buck special "High Power" "low Recoil" 00 buck 9 pellet 2 3/4 1200fps with FTE issues. The rounds were getting thrown to the side but seemed like getting caught before they could eject. I then tried it on setting 1. The Bolt would not even come back all the w
  8. I purchased the diy conversion part from MAA on March 13th and received all the parts in yesterday... Thought some would like to know.
  9. EV-7267 Posted and Ready for Shipping! A long and worthy wait almost over at last! Thanks MDARMS
  10. I dont think "where is the cheapest gunsmith?" was a question in the previous thread.... zzzz
  11. sigh.... it went along just fine with my previous post...asking for whom can help, then people side tracked on gunsmithing...laws about gunsmithing....ect.. So dont tell me i was out of line with my post. I didn't find it needed to start a whole new thread when we are talking about the exact topic of what we are talking about here. could have just answered the question and moved on....now its clutter. Thank you anyway for trying to help...
  12. Links to the laws, please. There is no law that says you have to put your name on a gun just because you milled off ¼" of steel. If there were, there'd be some guns out there that looked like billboards. Spraying paint from a can onto a rifle requires you to put your name on it? RIIIIIIIGGGHTT. I'm calling bull**** on this and starting to wonder where you come up with this stuff. I guess this brings me back to my original question... Anyone know what a decent price for a gunsmith should be charging for this type of a conversion? Give or take? Thank You.
  13. I am looking at getting a new stock after my conversion. I have the T6 collapsible tapco stock w/pistol grip. Obviously that wont work anymore. I am not sure how the milling and grinding process to add the tromix stock goes. how easy ect... anyone that has the CBS 6 position Alum stock recommend that? I am not sure i need all the rails and battery holders that it offers, but i like that look and want to stay away from the tapco one thats similar. Any thoughts on my options? and how easy is it cut the tang and all that good stuff if i wanted the tromix w/ limbsaver? ThanK You!
  14. I am in Providence, RI and looking for someone to do conversion work on my Saiga12. I have all the parts from MMA en route. Anyone in the area willing do the work? I was going to be working with Ripper, but i am also looking for anyone else that could help. Any idea on how much a Gunsmith should charge for this service? Just your typical conversion with the following... 1 x Fire Control Group 1 x AK SAW Pistol Grip - Black 1 x Tromix Do-It-Yourself Saiga 12 Trigger Guard How much should they charge? and is anyone else available to do this conversion, if i had to ship it that
  15. Plugs, AK Saw Pistol Grip, and Fire Control Group is all that is needed correct? I am placing my order with MAA as well. I have a S12 currently using a tapco t6 stock. Can i go back and use the original stock? Or do i need to get something different? I want something similar to the original, nothing telescopic or folding. Thank you! EDIT: Order Placed with MMA. SAW Pistol Grip, Tromix Do It YouRself, FCG, and now I need to order the plugs...what size do i order? Sorry for such a simple question..never did this before on my own....hope it works out well. Ordering Plugs here...http
