  1. Read my live fire after action review thread: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=38857 You will see various must have parts.
  2. Still no answer from Tantal @ Avtomats in Action. I've sent it from two emails, just in case one is junked. Cobra, I'd add to this list by requesting a separate firing pin assembly (pin/striker) with 2-3 firing pin springs. I attempted to creat a parts list in the order of priority in my proposed critical replacement parts list thread. Hopefully someone will start making some of those parts, starting with the striker #22 which is the part that broke in this case. GUNFIXR was kind enough to fabricate a striker #22 to fix pipesfa65 saiga 12.
  3. It gets us closer, but there are still parts that would be needed for a complete build. Pipesfa65's experiance is what motivated me to make this list and hopefully drum up some demand so someone will take the economic risk and produce these parts.
  4. I did not include after market upgrades because they already exsist. There are plenty of replacement stocks available and KA is comming out with a Saiga 12 barrel that will not dought be better than the original: http://www.kingarmory.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page41.html The parts are listed in the order in which I believe will likely break first. Pipefa65 recently broke a striker#22 so that is why it is listed first. The last and least likely was the bolt support or bolt carrier.
  5. The KA puck does more than just improve gas pressure, it also can go a lot longer without getting clogged due to it's concave scoop design. For the price it is well worth the upgrade. Also, try the 25% reduced hammer spring from CSS. You will be amazed at how much lighter your bolt will cycle and trigger pull imroves.
  6. I did not include parts that could easily be replaced with aftermarket improvements. The front sight post does not unscrew on newer saigas and there are aftermarket alternatives such as the Krebs bolt on AK site with real peep sight. I also didn't list the piston puck because the KA puck and Chaos puck is available. I also didn't list the gas plug because the GUNFIXER plug is available.
  7. The closest thing I have seen is the tiwan 5rd mags at the saiga store. I don't know who would have the originals. http://www.saiga-12.com/products.asp
  8. The following is a proposed list of critical replacement parts that are extremely hard to find, but are needed. If someone was to make a part set this is what I would look for in priority. Note: I did not include performance enhancing items like KA puck, GUNFIXER plug, ect because they already exsist and although they are the best there are other options. Most springs are available as surplus and aftermarket. This is a list of needed parts that don't seem to exsist except from the manufacturer. Most critical listed first and so on. 1. Striker: #22 on attached list 2. Firing-pin spring
  9. I second that, I will go so far as to say that would be priority #1 for my next purchase. I have tons of HK91 parts, I am really concerned that I don't have the same kind of stuff for the Saiga. I also hate to beat a dead horse, but we all know that small buisnesses like: Tromix, Kings Armory, Chaos, MD, ect would make better parts than the original. I would actually replace all the parts I could and then buy some spares just incase I lose something in the field.
  10. Read my thread Live Fire After Action Review. Critical performance enhancing parts are: GUNFIXER plug, KA Puck, and 25% reduced hammer spring.
  11. Can I request one or two too, please?Love to have a grab bag of parts. I would also buy a few. As a could see a demand is building. I think getting the deadline saiga off the O26 should be the priority. +1 for the gothchick picture, I try not to look directly at it. I really with she would go back to the decapitated doll picture.
  12. I actually spent 3 hours talking to him on "Good Friday." I recieved it in the mail and had a question as to which way it went into the gas tube. He not only answered my question he went into extreme detail into the KA puck material and purpose. This guy eats, drinks, and breaths this stuff. Anything they make is likely to be top quality. +1. KA has great customer service and very nice and friendly over the phone. KA is one of the few exceptions to all the assholes in not only the firearms industry, but any sort of manufacturer at all. He even asked me if I was a saiga-12.com member.
  13. Whats the status of your broken firing pin? When can we get your saiga off the deadline report? If you found a pin, where did you find it?
  14. dissable your mag turn it upside down and drop in a loaded shell if it will fall all the way then the mag is to narrow . I just sent all 10x of my promags back to Promag Industries and demanded that they be: repair, replaced, or refunded as per the terms of the lifetime warrenty. For me this fad is over, I am sticking with 8rd surefire mags.
  15. You won't be disappointed. I consider these three parts critical performance enhancing parts. Thats great, don't forget about the 25% reduced recoil hammer from CSS.

  17. You might have to drift you rear sight. I had to with mine. Zeroing slugs at 50yds seems to be the best all around zero for anything that you may shoot. My rear sight took a lot of beating to get it to move, but once zeroed it stays zero almost indefinatly.
  18. +1. Read my live fire after action review thread. These KA pucks work really well, especially used with GUNFIXER plug and 25% reduced hammer spring.
  19. I can't wait to try my GUNFIXER plug and KA puck. Should have them soon. Don't forget about the 25% reduced hammer spring.
  20. Observe where they bind up, and carefully trim small increments, until they fit properly into your gun.If ammo doesn't feed properly, do the same, see where casing get caught and then correct as needed. Observe what others have done and what has worked, and decide if your capable or willing to do the same. For the price of 10x promags that I would never trust with my life I could have purchased 6x 8rd surefire mags that I could almost bet my soul on.
  21. How did it break? Did it break during livefire? I was shooting some federal bird shot and all the sudden the gun went click instead of bang. I noticed no primer dent in the shell and so I stripped her down and sure enough the firing pin is missing the top 1/4 or so! Damnedest thing have ever had happen with a Saiga! Hope I can find a replacement soon! About how many rounds have you fired since you ouned the gun? Did you normally remove the firing pin during cleaning after live fire? I am just curious. I would be willing to bet that was likely a bad part from the factory.
  22. I don't think their S12 mags are shit. Some just need a little work...like almost every other S12 mag out there. My MDA drums took more time and effort to work than my Promags. I guess I shouldn't mind. Keep thinking they're shit so the price stays down. For the $$$ I'll take a little tinkering thank you. AMEN! Same here. To save $20 bucks a mag is worth 10-20 minutes of tinkering to me. Of course I only bought 3, if I had bought 10 I might be a little annoyed too! +1 abviously. It will be interesting to see how their so called lifetime warrently really works. Until I get a
  23. That's got to be one of the silliest comments I've ever heard, and actually makes me wonder about your whole write up. thanks for taking the time and expressing your opinions .... As for a caked puck, every saiga that I've followed close enough will go MANY more rounds, caked pucks and all. Granted, most of these are EAA guns ... Nothing personal, and all IMO. eta: There are worse shells out there than winchester AA's (AA is their premium brand, and #9's would be built for the finicky skeet shooters). Winchester universal loads are the typical 100-round-bulk-pack-wal-mart spec
  24. Don't feel bad I bought 10 of them. I am going to test the so called lifetime warrenty tomarrow.
  25. Do the Surefire 8-rnd mags come with the same spring as the 12-rounders? I have no desire for a 12-round mag, but I see the advantage of more pressure on the mag spring. Should I get the 12-rounders and cut them down to 8? Or do the 8-round mags use the same spring and I should save myself the effort? You don't want too much spring pressure, or it'll be a bitch to load. It is the same spring and there is increased tension, but I have had no issues feeding super light loads.
