It looks very tempting, but what about weight. Does anyone know what it is made out of? You tend to get what you pay for.

That strengthens my theory that some saigas are more prone to breaking surefire mags than others. I shot 10x 12rd mags with none breaking and I know many other that have as well. On the other hand I have heard some, including you, that they have been breaking 12rd surefires one after the other all at the front lip. There has to be a reason for this. Did you not read my post above? Or do you just not believe me? I am with Cobra on this. It seems that that guns that have zero movement in the mags locked up may be the ones breaking them. The stock test gun I used to test the clear m

I have stated this before. I am interested in findig out the cause of these mags failures. It has to be more to it than weak plastics. These mags clear or not are extremely strong. I know that the tolerances are loose with the saigas. I wounder if mags are more prone to brake in some saigas than others. I have fired 3in OOO buck shells from my 12rds mags with no problem. I wounder if the bolt heads are contacting the backs of these mags. If so, a small contact during dry use would be even worse with the recoil of live fire. If that bolt contacts the back of the mags, I could see it pushing it

Can you use the original iron sights with a Chaos Quad Rail?
-
I have no idea what any of this has to do with American made Saiga clones.
-
I do have a Kobra Red Dot on mine and it still seems quicker to reach over and use my left pinky to rack the bolt. I do have to tilt the weapon slightly, but it seems the best way. Especially firing from the prone. Note: I am right handed.
-
Recommended change to #2 and #4. Instead of reaching under, reach over with left hand and rack the bolt with left pinky finger. I really think that it is quicker to reach over the weapon than under as noted above.

Good point, first impression got the best of me. I will write more when I actually shoot it.

I ordered and recieved a King Armory Saiga piston: http://www.kingarmory.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page41.html This definatly appears to be a high quality part. I am using this with a GUNFIXER plug. It fits much tighter than the factory one and seems to make no noise as it slides back and forth. I have not shot it yet, but I can tell that it will be a really good upgrade.

"I do own Saigas. Four Saiga 12s and two 308s. I also have two 7.62x39s on order." MN Legend quote In that case what do you think of the Bolt-on Tromix Charging Handles?
-
Next time you see that, ask them if they also tie their socks around their ankles. WTF!!!!!!???????? What does that have to do with a Tromix Bolt on Charging Handle? Hell, I would even accept comments about American made Saiga clones, but this is way the hell off topic. Stay Focussed!!!! It's commony referred to as a "free bump". I was considering bumping up your US-Clone-Obsession thread next, but now you can forget it. Do you even own a Saiga?
-
Mine actually caim out to be $318.00 with shipping and tax. $320.00 is fine as well.

What would the serial number range be for a American made clone "Vodka Special?" None, the quality would be too good. Sorry for the harassment, just continuing my campaign for an American made Saiga clone.

NailBomb has one pictured on his. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showto...3312&st=240 The older pics of mine have the style shown, it was borrowed from a friend. The newer pics are of a picany mount style on a guntech mount. I did flip and chop the picany rail(it is held on by 2 allens) to get the rail the same size as the base without covering the battery. I think it came out ok, and really these are very nice sights. only downsides might be they are heavy for a red dot(read: not very heavy) and they are a bit bulky for a red dot too. Its the price you pay for something built lik

LMAO. You're really dead set on this American Saiga, huh Patriot? Just trying to expedite the aquisition process. Once Izhmash stops exporting, for what ever reason, I don't want to wait forever for an American clone. PTR91 is a good example of this. when HK91s were ban from importation, it took many years before we began to see quality HK91 clones like the PTR91. Gothchick brought up a good point, will this added weight effect cycling?

True, I guess thats the market these days. At least you can still find them though...my favorite the PK-AS has vanished from the face of the earth. Z It was actually shipped from the Russian Federation. It took 16 days to recieve.
-
I see no use for one, but will buy a few to help Tromix gain the capitol needed to produce a future Saiga clone.

The price is high, but Eastwave is a quality outfit. I've ordered 2 8x42 POSP scopes, a PK-AS and I think my PO 3.5x21p from them, among other things. Good people to do business with. Z The price seems even higher on gunbroker.
