If I didn't live in Kalifornia I'd do the conversion.

I have a side mount like that but didn't want a rail attachment on the side, I put that crap up front instead.

I have seen some very nice conversions on this site. I bought my Saiga because it is hardy, simply built, and basic. I guess I find some of the expensive stuff on here to be like putting $4,000 wheels on a Chevy Aveo. I guess the AR forums have more people going overboard with their rifles. I love looking at the fancy stuff on the guns here though.

A lot of what I see is good stuff but some people have the tacti-tool look going.

I was thinking the same thing... if your not gonna do a full AK conversion and are good with factory mags, what do you need the monster man grip for?

The trick is to somehow build a hatch on the butt plate without weakening it too much. Probably have to get it made from metal.

Whoops! I was an English major thanks! there is a bit of a math error there. (290$ =)29000 cents / 1,000 rounds= 29 cents per round. certainly not an awe inspiring figure. Still, you need ammo to shoot, so pay what you can justify.

I bought 1,000 rounds of Wolf hollow point for $290. About 3.3 cents per round. Not bad.

That's some serious cash. I put a $45 Leapers red dot on and it works great. Small groupings and red or green light. You do have to flip open the caps but I don't think that's a big deal. And much cheaper too.

I like how the Garand has a pocket carved out inside the buttstock... I noticed my Saiga's stock is hollow... just a thin plastic cover over it. Had anybody designed something to use this wasted space? I noticed a stock 10 round mag would fit nicely in there. Seems a shame to have this space go to waste especially when you could put something useful in it if you got separated from your stuff. Am I crazy or is this a good idea?

Bought 2 Saiga 10 rounders for $33 each plus the ammo. Libs have tried to ban the show but no luck yet! There's gun shows in San Fran?
