  2. GEEeeeezz!! Ball busting is asking 1/3 of a shotgun's original cost for a flash hider! Part of why I got into an S-12 was affordability. Granted, your part is pretty cool looking but GEEeeeezz!!
  3. Just felt like I needed to say 'me too'. I posted this in another thread before finding this one, so here goes (again): I've been offline for quite a while. Good to see this site getting the traffic it deserves. MAKC, I TOLD YA . . . . . . HAVE PATIENCE, THEY'LL COME!
  4. It's about damn time! Let's hope these folks get a reliable supply line set up. On another note, I've been offline for quite a while. Good to see this site getting the traffic it deserves. MAKC, I TOLD YA . . . . . . HAVE PATIENCE, THEY'LL COME!
  5. Look into Koba optics as dicussed in the thread linked below: http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.p...threadid=183731 You can absolutely trust Tantal. Email him for current pricing, He will respond very quickly. Awesome selection and service. The link below leads to his page. Lots of graphics and content. . . . .beware if you're on dial-up! http://tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/
  6. kmoore makes a good point. Make sure to clean it well. . . .don't neglect disassmbling the bolt and firing pin to clean out all of the packing grease. Feed problems? I dunno.. . . . . .
  7. Look closely. There is a small leaf type spring that locks the wheel. Lift the spring with the punch tool in your cleaning kit- - - you can get to it through the hole in the side of the sight rail. At this point you can turn the elevation adjustment wheel. Just think how fast your elevation setting would go to hell if the adjustment didn't lock! One, maybe two shots I'd guess. Russian engineers maybe to think some about good sights after all, no?
  8. There is a leaf spring that locks the rail adjustment wheel. Directly behind the adjustment wheel you will see a small hole. Insert a stylus type tool (like the one included with your cleaning kit) and lift up. The rail adjustment wheel should turn freely. As for gas settings look in the faq : http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showforum=25 Specifically: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=262 Hope this helps and welcome to the Saiga fan club!
  9. Huh??? AK receivers are totally incompatible with shotgun shells. How would something like that be possible if it WAS legal?

  11. Ziff Davis Media recently published a doctored photo that is highly disrespectful of Russian soldiers specifically and all military veterans in general. Look over what follows and if you are as angry as I am spread the word and hammer their offices with phone calls, email etc.. I'm posting this here as it is one of the few places I know of that has regular Russian visitors. I'd like to see this get international attention. Jerks like this should be known for the kind of people they are. If you haven't seen this thread on Gunsnet here's the story- Ziff Davis Media used a doctored photo i
  12. Well, the shotgun is more expensive in your country, but here the mag ALONE will land you in the pokey!
  13. brooks, was that a Saiga 12 guage?
  14. Hell yes! You absolutely CAN trust that side rail scope mount. It's a damn fine piece of gear!
  15. Makc- Back in March (was it that long ago?) I suggested that your site might need a FAQ, though at the time there was little traffic or accumulated knowledge here. Maybe, as Tokarev suggests, it is an idea whose time has come? G
  16. This has been covered extensively. If you do a search on this forum with the key words 'gas setting' you'll get a wealth of information and links. Also, make sure to THOROUGHLY clean your gun before use. These were shipped with a healthy coat of cosmoline and you'll want to strip it bare. . . . even to the point of disasembling the bolt and pulling the firing pin out. If you neglect this you'll soon run into problems, so get the grease out! That said, have fun and report back when you're done breaking it in!
  17. Yep they've gone up alright. Dammit!
  18. My copy of the CDNN catalog lists the mags for $18.99 . Your gun show pricing sounds almost identical to what they are advertising (without FFL fees of course!). www.cdnninvestments.com
  19. Is it legal to have 8rd mags? The letter of the law says yes. Somehow though it has become acceptable for law enforcement agencies to assert that the letter of the law is less important than the will and determination of their administrations. Vote. G

Geez Makc that's good. It needs to be on ak-47.net too!
  21. There is a notch in the top of the elevation adjustment wheel. A piece of spring steel fits into the notch to keep the wheel from turning. The punch tool in your cleaning kit can be used to hold the spring up while you turn the adjustment wheel. Look closely- you should be able to see it on close inspection from the side of your gun.
