  1. Well signed up here after putting my first payment down on my saiga 12. Finally paid it off and took it out a few weeks ago. Not new to guns but this is my first shotgun. I pretty much only take photos when im shooting Vector hk51 clone with registered sear. FUN!!! Shooting my dads taurus 92 clone First time skeet shooting and first time shooting a side by side. As you can see I was inline but shot below the clay. I scored a 9 Me getting read to light up the cannon. Jk this is at shiloh. But most of those babies were only a drill away from being in working condi
  2. K. after looking at my S-12. I see the serial # is on the trunnion. So what if you keep the original trunnion? Could you not do this if you plan to put a new barrel on of the same caliber? So can you not just change out a saiga barrel with an ak barrel?
  3. Interesting. I'd always wondered why people didn't buy the hell out of saigas for the russian receivers. Never knew you could not reuse the receiver on another kit. What is the exact violation/charge?
  4. I hold the gun by the stock in my left hand and brace the butt of the stock against my hip. I then take my right hand pull the charging handle and engage the bho up with my thumb once I pull the handle back far enough. Then I smack the old mag out by hitting the mag release with the new, pop the new mag in and slightly pull the handle. Good to go. I don't engage the bho with my trigger finger Thank you for your response.
  5. I guess I hadn't paid attention to people's ak pistol grip conversions like using the saigatech which is what I planned to use. I'm a lefty and the bho works great for me where it is. It's alot easier to lock the bolt back and then do a tac reload to get the old mag out and the new in and pull the handle. It makes inserting the new mag alot faster and easier with no modification to anything. But I noticed people are grinding down the bho. If anything i'd wanna extend it maybe. I'd be shooting lefty but my girlfriend is a righty. Will the bho interfere with shooting for a righty or lefty
  6. so with a u.s. made puck. You're good to go when using u.s. made mags? I'll probably replace my handguard too.
  7. What gas setting were you on? Mine wasn't even throwing them as far as yours but I was on setting #1 . I plan to get the improved gas plug soon.
  8. It'll probably become my second favorite gun to shoot. I love l1a1's \ Gotta love registered MG's and nice friends. The large ass bore is definitely an attraction though. Can't wait to get some slugs then it might just become my favorite gun for under 100 yards for sure.
  9. I had thought about a polychoke. Great to hear it uses the factory threads and has a slug setting. That was one thing I was worried about was using slugs. I just read multiple threads here where people weren't knocking down steel because of either a poa change *which should be worked out at the range before the comp* Are there any other issues to consider? Is X full probably what I would use in competition? Thanks guys. Hopefully someone else has them in stock. I'm thinking of getting a thin pad for it until I get a better stock. I'm not a recoil pansy and I shoot l1a1s/fals for the most
  10. 12 because they don't make a 10 plus there is sheetloads of different kinds of ammo in 12 gauge. fug I just noticed someone said it before me
  11. Yes I have lurked for a while and definitely have seen the quality of information here. Which is why it will become my third forum home
  12. New guy. Paid 600 otd and got two surefire mags for once I get my u.s. parts. It was built in september of 08 Was using walmart federal on gas setting one. I believe I have three gas ports. Plan to get to converting it soon. I need to actually pattern it on paper with a few kinds of ammo and shoot at my friends steel plates. I will be using it in a friendly 3 gun competition at our annual fal shoot. I've read of multiple people not being able to knock down plates due to choking issues. I've only put birdshot through her so far. I realize when I unscrew the thread protect
