  1. I installed the lil resistors and it works perfectly!
  2. Autozone has a resistor for $10, that I can throw in there to slow it down if I want. I may, because a cop may see my light blinking fast, like it would if one bulb was burnt out, and think that my blinkers weren't working or one was Not working, and may pull me over. I'd like to avoid that. I'll try to give The Man, no reason to pull me over. Oh, and until I have an extra $400 for a tube bumper, I put an old Jeep front bumper on it.
  3. The level was with aprox. 250-300 lbs. in the bed. My driveline angle was great. no vibrations at town speeds. Hoping to get front shocks mounted tomorrow. The PIAA bulbs are great, as are the housings. The top cut off line is very distinct, and I am not blinding anyone. My LED front blinkers with old rear blinkers, work, but flash a bit fast.
  4. I mounted my Zombie Tools today, also ACTUALLY drove it around the block a few times! Things settled in nice. Level on the bed rail after all of our work with the lift.
  5. True. The main benefit I am getting, is that, with a lift, (from sagging old height, to 4" lift height) of 7+" I need that flood or volume of light to see the same distance, at least, and still successfully illuminate the ground close to me, due to my higher angle of projection, the housings I got have a nice distinct cut off line at the top, so that I don't blind oncoming traffic, and be "That guy."
  6. It's all the ebb and flow of interests. When I joined the site, I can remember many times that there were Tons of folks on the sight at any given time. There are a lot of great folks with good, honest advice for any questions that one may have, involving most any kind of firearm, not just Saigas. Every guest is a potential future member.
  7. Haven't had it outside at night yet. Just got her rolling today, but the lights seem effin bright now. Rear springs mounted. Shocks next. Here is how she sits.
  8. Finally got the rear springs at the end of today!! Did a few more things to button up my interior, and stow my crap. Put an access hatch to the wooden panel that replaced my rear seats, and bolted in 2 ammo cans to store straps and fluids.......or ammo. Got my last 2 interior wood panels in place. I think ....THINK, I am 2 weekends away from being done with this part of the rebuild. Lockers will wait until next year.
  9. Chipping away at some details. Got the last 2 interior wood panels cut and stained, one looks curiously like Montana..... Cut out the ashtray, and put my oil and water gauges in its place. So from the top of the dash pic is, Altimeter/inclinometer, Vents, climate control, oil/water gauges, storage box made from license plates, shifters, and pistol holster. Also upgraded to new halogen head lamps with PIAA bulbs and mounting LED blinkers in the '87 style grill.
  10. I've had friends tell me to put cup holders in my half doors......okay, here we go; #1 If you need a 4x4 rig, you don't need cup holders. #2 Is your hand broken? #3 You're not drinking your beer fast enough. If this list doesn't work for ya, git the F**k out and walk.
  11. Put in the IFS steering box, and New/Old bucket seats from an old Toyota camper, so they look like Grandmas couch from 1980. They are in great shape though.
  12. The only time I take off of work is for Hunting, so yeah, my vacation IS hunting.......why travel to kill squirrels and frogs????? Pretty sure they are everywhere.
  13. Progress continues.....What is a 3" lift sure is looking more like 7" to me. Added the front truss to the axle. Also a little rub for the Jeepers out there, a stock Jeep rear axle vs. a stock Toyota rear axle. I'll take the Yota please...
  14. I got the door panels finished today. Great for rainy days and cold late night drives home from the trails.
  15. Here is a little safety tip, if you are ever considering half doors for your rig.....
  16. Well, a lot has developed since my last post. I have skins being made for the half doors: a 2 piece set up, Black Cardura on bottom, and clear vinyl up top. I am also re-doing my whole suspension. Installing a high steer kit, all new leaf springs with rears from a newer model Tacoma pick up truck, Fox racing shocks, and this will result in a 4" lift and way more axel travel upward and downward. My front axel will be relocated an inch and a half foreward, so an extended front driveline as well. I also installed a sweet original analog altimeter with inclination indicators !
  17. Half doors are working out great. I am having snap on window panels made for them. We will be hunting Elk sheds this weekend.....again.
  18. Quick camo on doors before it snowed again. 37 degrees is plenty warm for half doors in my book!
  19. Just finished up my half doors. I have no door latch, so We made it a push button/rod that fits right into the window channel. I kept the window frame, so that I can have snap on windows made for them. Still need to grind down welds and make things a little cleaner, but they are on!! We even got snow today to celebrate! Canvas softopper and half doors in Montana......Zionks!
  20. We've gotten a few Grouse, and Antelope season starts real soon. Then Deer and Elk. Hopefully these pics will include critters soon. One from my latest scouting trip. We had a very positive interaction with the local Game warden, who of course checked our birds and permits, but also answered a ton of questions on hunting areas new to me.
  21. Judging by the half doors, you've been spending time on some yota forums or Pirate. Now solid axle that bitch and enjoy a ride that you've never thought possible. Hey Big John, this is the elusive 1985 4runner,Fuel injection AND Solid axle!!! Whooop!!!
  22. Came across a few more Grouse again this weekend. Smaller, at lower elevation, but good to see. We've had a seemingly "record year" with mountain berries of all kinds, so lots of food for them this year.
  23. I've had a few nice drives into my hunting areas in our higher elevations (7,000-8,000ft.) and I've seen a lot of healthy Grouse up top! Birds about the size of chickens in hunter friendly terrain. Looking foreword to September! Sorry, no pics.
