  1. I received my Tromix FCG from Mississippi Auto Arms, along with several other items. Everything was as ordered, arrived in a very timely manner and communications from MAA was first rate, a excellent vendor! But I digress. ....................................................... When I opened the Tromix FCG and inspected the parts, it appears to me that the hammer (which is the modified part, both for the BHO/removal of the hump), may have been incorrectly ground. The part of the hammer which the pin goes thru, has one side ground down to accommodate the BHO(?). This part is slight

    FSB

Which FSB to use on my S12 with fixed iron rear sight? Short or tall? Hmmmm... Dinzag, or somewhere else, where to find one that'll work?
  3. No real difference in general construction, i.e. size/shape. The Tromix is discontinued IIRC. Both are 922r compliance parts, as defined by IZMASH, the puck is the Gas Piston. I just bought a Chaos puck from MAA.
  4. Using a foreign made buffer tube and a US made buttstock to construct a 6 position collapsible stock. Does the buffer tube render it noncompliant as a buttstock assembly?
  5. Correct. Part of my ....confusion.... ...... is how some parts may be interpreted by local/state/federal LEOs, i.e. they decide that the part I question constitutes a rail system and is not a forearm per se, and therefore not a compliance part under 922r. Understand, I try to look at things from multiple angles, and the views/interpretations of many LEOs can vary widely.
  6. While the 2nd Amendment covers our Right to Bear Arms, governmental bureaucracies have and will make rules governing their use/construction, and those laws will be enforced at their discretion.I do not wish to ever be a victim of bureaucratic discretion, and I will be a good citizen and obey their silly/asinine laws regardless of whether or not I think they have Constitutional merit.
  7. Well, finally decided to save a few bucks and bought the 'Surefire Saiga 12 Tri-Rail Forearm - Generation 1', from MAA. Tromix FCG = 3 parts Chaos gas puck/piston = 1 part TAPCO S12 gas rod/piston = BATF can kiss my ass if they ever decide on one or the other... or even both parts... I'm covered. AK T6 collapsible stock = 1 part Tromix DIY trigger guard AK47 style SAW PG Nylon hole plugs 1 x 12 rnd Surefire mag = 3 parts 3 x 10rnd Surefire mags = 3 parts 1x 2rnd Surefire mag = 3 parts... Yes, a 2rnd mag, Bambi is going to get his tail knocked into the mud next year Surefire S12
  8. The Tromix FCG has the shepherds crook wire, but I was thinking about getting one of Krebs Custom shotgun specific retaining plates.
  9. Yes. Why wouldn't it? Just like you said; "It is made in the US, it is a forearm, other US made forearms are compliance parts." Why wouldn't it?I just wasn't sure, many items are listed specifically as 922r compliance parts in their description, and some such as this aren't. Thank you for your replies.
  10. FCG components, extractor and components, firing pin and components and asstd screws/pins.
  11. Well after much homework, questions and indecisiveness, I finally bit the bullet and there is no turning back now... I just ordered all my conversion parts. Tromix FCG = 3 parts Chaos gas puck/piston = 1 part TAPCO S12 gas rod/piston = BATF can kiss my ass if they ever decide on one or the other... or even both parts... I'm covered. AK T6 collapsible stock = 1 part Tromix DIY trigger guard AK47 style SAW PG Nylon hole plugs 1 x 12 rnd Surefire mag = 3 parts 3 x 10rnd Surefire mags = 3 parts 1x 2rnd Surefire mag = 3 parts Just need to find or make a forearm that I like, that'
  12. 2nd question... Does this forearm count as a compliance part? http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/se...il?sfs=69540197 It is made in the US, it is a forearm, other US made forearms are compliance parts.
  13. OK... As I understand it, my S12 with a threaded barrel (muzzle attachment aka Thread Protector) counts as foreign part #14 on the 922r list. Cool. So, does adding a US made attachment, e.g. muzzle brake, flash suppressor or choke, count as a 922r compliance part? ...................................... Please forgive me if this has been covered a thousand times, I can't seem to find a definitive answer.
  14. There is only one correct answer here... The BATF can decide at any time to count one or the other, or even both, regardless of what IZMASH defines as the piston. I call it prudent, to simply have both the rod/piston and the puck/piston installed. Any good gunsmith should be able to easily change out the rod/piston, why not cover your ass?
  15. Which receiver block, is it one they ^^ offer? Is it fixed, I prefer fixed? Does the receiver require removing the tang? Does it require any milling to fit? I can find the pig noses for AR buffer tubes, but I can't find the receiver block that the pig noses bolt onto, on that or other sites.
  16. Damn! Double Damn! I was hoping it was US Made, I didn't see any mention of place of manufacture. Lets see, I should still be good on compliance, tromix FCG (3 parts), Chaos gas puck (1 part), Galil style forearm (1 part), US made magazines (3 parts).
  17. I'd like to purchase this collapsing buttstock, http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/se...il?sfs=3f72fe8d I just want to make sure I'm reading this correctly. It is setup to fit right into and screw in, where my factory S12 stock was, no removal of tang, no inserts, no pignose, no welding/milling? And, does it count as a US made conversion part for 922r???
  18. I'm in Mobile, AL and I just bought one last month, went in same shop yesterday, and there were two shiny new S12s on the wall.
  19. Can I use the, http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=339 And NOT have to move the trigger forward?
  20. Any of the AR-15 makes in .223/5.56 make excellent varmint guns, both four legged and two legged varmints.
  21. Has anyone shot 'Estate' 00 buck from Cabelas? Does it cycle the S12 well, decent pattern? Link: Estate @ Cabelas Its $149.00 per 250rnds, $0.60 per round, and comes with a ammo can.
  22. If it is threaded for chokes, then yes. You would still need to swap out 1 more "counted" part. A gas piston (puck) would be the easiest way. If it's not threaded, then the 3 US parts from the mag, would make it compliant. Thank you.
  23. I'm buying a new Saiga-12 from a local gun store here in Mobile, AL, it supposedly comes from Uncle Russkie with a 5 rnd mag... Cool, we're compliant with 922r. However, the dealer includes a American made 12rnd mag. Question: Does inserting the 12 rnd mag make it non compliant?
