  1. Hi all, Its been a while seen I have been on the board. I love my converted Saiga-M, but I still have two outstanding issues. First, the new Tapco trigger has some side to side wiggle... any ideas? I dont want to pack it up with washers. I want it to be the right fit. Also, do I need to install a new site block to keep my cleaning rod in place? How much gun smithing is involved? It bothers me not seeing the cleaning rod installed on these Saiga AKs. Thanks all.
  2. What is the degreasing process invlove?
  3. Aluma-Hyde costs over $22 w/ shipping!!!! Can you get this stuff in stores or is there something else that works just as well that I can buy at the store?
  4. And no luck on a search. I did a site search and could not find it. Thanks gents.
  5. Hey all, Just finished the conversion on my Saiga-M. Everything went well except for the two unexpected welds that the Ms have on their trigger plate. But anyway, now that the plate is removed there is unpainted metal beneath. Does anyone have a low gloss black chemical resistant paint suggestion that will match the original Saiga paint. Also, I am also waiting for a wood stock set in the mail, does anyone know the color stain used to match the orignal Kalashnikov red colored stocks? Thanks
  6. Nope, no slant at the rear of the receiver. The gun is almost identicle to my buddy's "normal" Saiga. I didnt realize what I had until he purchased his Saiga this past weekend. As you can see there are no pins above the trigger and the barrel is longer. It also has a funny trigger, a lot different than the "normal" Saiga trigger. I will let you all know how the conversion goes. Just waiting to year back from Dinzag about the different parts needed. Yes, I have one in 7.62. Bought it because I was not looking to convert and I liked the wood stock and longer barrel. It's pretty nice
  7. Anyone else on this forum own one? (Saiga-M)
  8. Mine also has the synthetic stock with the "M" on the side. I will keep everyonr posted with how it goes. Have to ship a few parts back to Danzig. Heres a couple pics, you can see the "M" and longer barrel. Ok.... How do I place photos on here????
  9. The Saiga-M is the latest addition to the line (modern). It has a heavier receiver, elongated barrel (555 mm), and a bolt with three locking lugs. Apparently they are more difficult to find and I guess I inadvertantly purchased it. I can post the pics if you all are interested. I am hoping it works out.
  10. I purchased all the parts I need for a pistol conversion not realizing that there is a Saiga and a Saiga-M. And I have a Saiga-M. Will the parts work??? HELP!!
  11. I am from the Reading, PA area. There are a few gun shows coming up and I am hoping for some half decent prices. Does anyone know anything about the Wolf Military Classic? How corrosive is it? Bigsal.... good advice!! I just dont want to miss something.
  12. I guess the bigger question is "why is ammo getting so hard to find?" I have my ideas......
  13. Ok, kinda what I thought... its bone dry out there! What is the skinny on the Wolf Military Classic Ammo?? Is it fairly rough on barrels? It seems slighlty easier to find.
