    Saiga 762

    My rifle
  2. X and Y on mine No extra Y either on mine but where would the extra Y appear.
  3. Thats the first thing I checked when purchasing. The sights are perfectly straight.
  4. I can't seem to get my camera to work for a surface closeup. I'm not sure what else might be different.
  5. Mine is a newly imported 7.62 by 39 caliber version. Imported on the most recent shipment. I have seen about the retooling and maybe there are changes. The receiver surface has a different texture which is less smooth and more similar to a grainy brush pattern. Nothing I have seen before.
  6. The metal surface looks different for sure. Looks like a brushed steel surface longwise.
  7. First off, googling 922R brings up a page of Uncle BATFuck bullshit on the subject. Not sure which google you used, maybe you did a typo. The reason I believe this law was inacted was to limit the number of surplus military rifles hitting the streets by driving up the price on them, which they have been more than successful in doing. Look at the price of converted AK, Saiga or SKS. Compliance costs money and drives the price up. The rational is if the rifle is more expensive, it is less likely to be used in a crime. To some extent this is true, you always see more "Saturday Night Specials"
  8. According to what your saying, if someone starts making 11 through 100 round drums for the Saiga 12, they will reclassify as a DD. Just wonderfull. According to what your saying, if someone starts making 11 through 100 round drums for the Saiga 12, they will reclassify as a DD. Just wonderfull. It might be time for a permanent sticky with Kevins statement to warn future newbies and idiots about not discussing, attempting to create, or suggesting 11 round plus magazines for the Saiga shotguns.
  9. No flames on Kevin. Im just curious. I figured he knew something from his research.
  10. http://soupbowl.kalashnikov.guns.ru/page12.html You can call it an operating rod, but it is not classified by the ATF as an operating rod.
  11. Click on the link http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=85118 look at post number 9 its Pyle's message. Who's "they"? The importer or the ATF? I'm trying to figure out why the ATF would prohibit FBMG but not others from stocking these. I think the importer (which has not been mentioned by Pyle) was denied by the ATF on his/her form 6 the ability to import the Saiga12-C/Vepr 12 models for civilian sales. The Vepr 12 models apparently were approved for non-civilian sales. I think the ATF will not allow a certain combination of features on imports for civilian

  13. They are going to cost $600 as seen in the picture once they get here. Converted ones will be near $900 maybe more. I guess with this new relationship with Izmash the new distributor might consider importing Saiga12-C/Vepr-12 parts like the rear sight block, gas block, gas tube, front sight block, etc....since Pyle already has stated that the complete Saiga12-C/Vepr-12 guns will not be available for civilian sales. Hopefully the parts are ok to import, and the importer drops us a favor. If not I guess I might have Ruseller hook me up, if hes got the hook up himself http://www.mili
  14. If he would get busted for a 922r violation, alot of dealers would stop fucking with customers. Unless its their ass on the line, many don't give a flying fuck, and will lie to customers.
  15. I wish federal, winchester, remington, or hornady would make a 20 pellet OO buckshot loading at 1000 to 1100 fps. Im not sure if 20 pellets could be made to fit with a reduced powder load.
  16. If you think that is bullshit, back when the early short barrel Saiga shotguns came in C W of Gunsmoke tried to argue with me about how even a 16 inch barrel shotgun is legal without NFA paperwork. He ended up cussing me out because I told him his current stock of Saiga 12s were going to be called back to RAA. When I called back a few weeks later, he cussed me out some more and slammed the phone on me. He said, "You sound like an anti-gun liberal telling lies about my products:You son of a bitch don't call this store no fucking more." Andrew Dice Clay said it best, "He should get cancer
  17. I own an IOR Vepr side mount. However, on the Saiga it sits too low. It barely clears the dust cover on my Saiga12. It may fit better on the Saiga .308, but I don't have the .308 version. It seemed to fit low, but with enough clearance on the Saiga 7.62x39. IOR no longer sells AK mounts. I talked to a phone rep from Colorado. Some of the older models were not centered over the bore. The newer ones were. Mine for the Vepr is centered. Its the finest mount I have ever handled.
  18. Ok, I guess I will just try the choate version. I could have swore I saw it used on topmaul's Saiga12.
  19. Looking for the pros and cons of either the choate drag stock or the new saiga drag stock for a Saiga 12 conversion. Right now I am leaning toward the choate as long as it installs easy.
