    its seems you paid about average retail,, its a 450 dollar pistol, with about 125 dollars worth of parts, and if you couldn't put the parts on your self then its about right..... Springfield GI model is hit or miss out the box sometimes the slide to receiver fit is sloppy, sometimes not... but good luck 1911 are super fun.. my favorite pistol.

    You can try to rebend it, with a twist or just pick you up a new Spring, if yours is unwound.. looks to me you just need a slight tweek.
