  1. First of all if you want kindness you came to the wrong sight O the'll help you with your questions BUT the'll have your credit card max out. From what I read your all ready done ,buying all those guns and skeet shooting on top of it, if that is'nt enough. I skeet and trap shoot and now I just finished my 3rd. Saiga conversion and my credit card is in shambles. My wife told me to stay away from Saiga 12.com the'll get you in trouble. But the scope mount I like and it's works very well is the AK to Weaver low mount from Tantal, rock solid, scope is up to you some like iron sights. I can shoot j

    Help

First thanks for the info on the gas piston but that will have to wait for now I have other problems. This is the 3 rd Saiga I have converted, two 223's & a 308. I just finshed the last 223 and when I manually set the trigger pushing down on the hammer with my thumb it works fine but when I put the bolt and bolt spring assembly in and cock the bolt back it dosen't push the hammer into full lock up hence when I release the bolt the hammer follows with it without me pulling the trigger back. the parts are tapco G2 single hook all new. Now I didn't put the bho back in as I feel it give me

    gas piston

where can I buy a usa gas piston for a 223/16" Sagia so as to stay in the legal parts count?
  4. about a 1yr ago a converted a 223 & 308 saiga. Back then Remmington purchased the Bailka line and Siaga's were drying up and mags. impossible to get. Today I bought a new Saiga 223 and the dealer had 762x39 in stock and said they are now shipping and he can get more. Is that correct and if so can I purchase new 223 10 rnr mags? and where?

    E. German Mags

I made up 1 mag.with the screw method only I made some small changes. I drilled and tapped a 8/32 allen button head screw and put permament locktite on the threads. Ran 300 rnds. threw it today no problems. I wanted to made sure the screw didn't back out, a tack well would be better but well see if the locktite holds up under the test of time. The first mag I made was E.German and I welded a 1/4 bar to the front of the mag. but I only have a stick welder and it's easy to screw up with that so that's why I used the screw method. I plan to buy a mig welder then I can build up the front of the m
  7. I put two 22ga. plates on the sides of my E. German mag to stop the side to side rocking, I soldered them on by first tinning the whole surface of the mag. where the plate would rest so as to have 100% contact and insure total strength, this seems to be the gauge to use to get a nice snug fit, just had to do a minor amount of filing to make the mag. go in for full contact, it's like a factory made mag. no more side to side rocking. Now that I got the proto type finished I' make up more.
  8. do they feed without a feed ramp on the mag?

    E. German Mags

Well I persisted and got the E.German mag to function flawlessly. Welded a feed ramp to the front of mag. using a 1/4" flat plate, I'am now going to put 12 guage plate's to the sides of mag to stop the side to side rocking.I'am not pissed anymore, I love my Saiga again. If I was back in the shop and had all the equipment( I'am retired) it would be a piece of cake. A Tig welder would make the job very easy and professonal looking.
  10. Bought 2 new E. German 223 mags. fit them as described here NO Good they jam on dry fire, with the ammo hitting the breach face of the barrel driving the bullet into the case. Reinstalled stock mag. no problems. This is with a feed ramp mod. Pissed more money wasted. Also don't like the way the E. German mags. rock this is a little to crude for me.

    feed ramp

Gentlemen today I installed a feed ramp in myS223 from3/4" pipe: easy job. Took it to the range with my stock saiga mag, a tight fit but works excellent . This week end I will go to a PA. gun show and get some mags. I was going to get 223 weigler mags and modify. Is it the 223 Weigler mags that I want or are there other's that I should consider? some same 223 bulg. plastic mags? I've folllowed everyone's advice so far with the conversion and the feed ramp. Thanks for the help. Also I used a 6/32 screw on the feed ramp to mount it. Being in the metal trades all my life I couldn't see using a 1

    feed ramp

Feed ramp:If I install a feed ramp from the Saiga conversion web sight " the red one" made from 3/4" pipe is this the feed ramp most commonly used by everyone here for the 223 Saiga? Also once I install a feed ramp can I still use my original 10 rd. mag?

    mag.conversion

Has anyone ever suscessfully converted any 308 mag to fit a Saiga? One gun dealer I buy from said that a Romax Drag.style 7.62x54 will fit the Saiga, but he's been known to get reckless with the truth. Isn't there some one out there who has suscessfully adapted a mag.
  14. Gentlemen don't get excited we in NJ have learned about gun control, they can only take your gun if you give it to them. Gun control is about one, thing they can't control you if you own a weapon.
