    Wood worthy

That is really good looking. I love the "Black Guns" but there is something about an AK with wood. It is how it is supposed to be.

    New wood

I ended up doing a little of Cobra76 two's method and using the Tromix Lower hand guard retainer.

    New wood

Finally had a chance to sit and read your post, I think I will give that a try. I like the way that turned out. Thanks

    New wood

It took about 3 months, however I believe the majority of the delay was waiting for the tooling to be completed for the forearm. The recoil pad is fitted great, it feels very nice though I have not shot it yet

    New wood

That looks awesome. Does the handguard come straight from Ironwood, being able to fit an S12? Or did you have to mod it? The handgaurd is made to fit, it just required a little wood removal where the wood "tang" slides into the reciever. That could be due to the differences in stamping sheet metal. Other then getting the right metal bits to hold it place, the picture is just all the pieces set in place,it's all there. No fasteners of any kind.

    New wood

So I picked up a wood stock set from Ironwood, took a little while but worth the wait. Fitted forearm is amazing, but I am not quite sure of a good way to attach it. I have fabricated a band for the front, now I need an idea for how to secure the back of the gas tube cover as the lower part is secured by the reciever. Any ideas? any inexpensive off the shelf bands that I am missing? I would prefer not to have to press the gas block off and back on. Here is a pic, still needs finished. I am just going to give it an oil finish, no stain.
  9. One would think it inherent that everyone should own an AK type weapon. Now that I have one, I am a believer everyone should have at least one. What was I thinking all these years.
  10. I just picked mine up from my FFL tonight, got it from Peachstate. I got free shipping and it arrived very quick. I am excited, this is the first AK type weapon I've owned.
