  1. It looks like it could have a better title. I agree. EDIT: I'm assuming it has something to do with the fact that they're all from the same small town. Watertown, a section of Boston. But really you pronounce it Wata Toun.
  2. The Ace folder, and a Magpul M4 type stock on an Ace folding mechanism are both excellent choices... Yep. Here are a couple pics of my S-12 with an Ace stock, Ace push-button folding mech, and Ace internal block. ~2000 rounds so far, zero problems. PA what type of fore grip do have on your S-12?
  3. Cute looking lady there
  4. I went to a shooting school way back in the early '90s. One of the guys asked a question about being right handed and left eye dominant. The instructor told him close his left eye and then in a smart ass tone asked "which is your dominant eye now"? The point was, if your right handed, shoot right handed with your right eye looking down the sights. Opposite if your a lefty. For what it's worth the instructor was pretty damn impressive with a weapon and taught us to be also.
  5. I would call them up. What could it hurt? I hope you get the job, but if they said they were going to call by yesterday, it doesn't sound good. If you don't get hired it would probably be a good idea to politely ask them to keep your application on file if an opening presents itself. Good Luck
  6. To me that's a lot of money for the gun. I understand that your in the PI and things are different there though, so if you can get past the high price, cool. I own a Sig P226 and can say that it has never failed on me. I carried one while in the service and abused the HELL out of it, worst thing that ever happened was a very rare stove pipe malfunction. Sig Sauer has some very well engineered weapons. Having personally seen the kind of abuse that they can take, I'm a customer for life.
  7. I find that beautiful young lady in your avatar hypnotic.

Low standards to say "he's a dedicated and loving father figure who tried to help others whenever he could - even if it meant breaking the law." ... it is evident the pattern continues. He's actually a young, irresponsible, unemployed father of two under the age of one, who should find another profession besides creating babies and stealing to get co-criminals out of jail. How about honest work? Maybe he's worried some thug will pull a shotgun on him and pull the trigger if he doesn't obey? Eventually, all hard working people will pack up and move, like the owners of the donut shop.
  9. Lots of good suggestions so far. I've been shooting a Sig Sauer P226 for almost 20 years. I like the 15+1 rnd capacity, the full frame, and that the only safeties are internal. The accuracy is incredible and the weapon is dependable. What else could you ask for?
  10. Had my T.V. fixed, those DICKS kept the power cord!

Then how do you know it's fixed?

  11. I think its worth investing in a bore guide, a quality one piece cleaning rod, a good copper solvent, Kroil oil, nylon and brass brushes and an in/lb torque driver. If you don't have that stuff already. Oh yea, a good leather sling and a bi pod.
  12. Not bashing them. Just relating my experience. I've run my own business before and know that you can't make everyone happy all the time. I bought half dozen 30 rnd AK magazines from them and two of them would not accept rounds because they were dented/bent. I called them and they said mail them back and they would replace them. In the end I didn't mail them back, and that's on me. I'm not sure if I'll buy from them again.
  13. I think your on to something when you say the round isn't sitting right. I would check and see that the follower is attached to the mag spring properly. Verify that the follower is moving smoothly in the magazine, and not getting all "hemmed up" somehow. Maybe give the spring a light pull to add some more upward pressure. Then check and see if the walls of the magazine are clean and lightly lubed. Now that I think of it, I never use the magazine. I'm always loading them in one at time to keep the rounds from getting hot.
  14. SMW, I don't know you, your rifle, or your capabilities. Telling you that your full of crap was out of line. Sorry brother
  15. Thanks Arik. I'm happy with the purchase. I plan on working on it some, change the stock, free float the barrel, maybe bed the action and after I save up some cash I'd like to put a quality scope with a mil dot reticule on it. It's going to be a project I'm lucky to live near a range that I can get out to 300 yds on. Until I broke the trigger guard I had it set up with a 200 yrd zero and was doing OK, but one thing I've noticed is that my groups are better at 200 yds than they are at 100 yds, weird. I'm thinking it has something to do with the bullet stabilizing in flight if that's possi
  16. Well, good luck brother. My 91/30 will do 3 inch groups at 100 yards, and this is shooting while standing, using surplus ammo, and trying to compensate for a crooked front sight. If you ever complete what your talking about please post some pics. In all honesty you sound like your full of crap. ETA- No shame in admiting that your +75 year old WW2 bolt action isn't a sub MOA tack driver
  17. Smw, I've got a 91/30 too. I put Mojo iron sights on mine (front sight post was bent). The bore on mine is rough, pitted, and ugly. It's a shooter. I can keep surplus ammo impacts in a 12" circle at 100 yds. Not bad for what I paid for it and a spam can of surplus ammo. 7.62x54 is impressive. How are you going to attach the scope? Replace the rear sight leaf or drill and tap the receiver? If you mount the scope over the bolt, you will need the bolt handle turned down if it's not already. I think adding any of the scopes on your list will increase your accuracy. I would be very i
  18. Oh yea, it's definitely plastic. Don't know why I thought it could handle 65 in/lbs, that crapper split and ended my day at the range. I'm looking at at a Bell Carlson stock to replace the original, which requires an upgrade to a BDL hinged floor plate and bottom metal and new screws and.......... on and on
  19. Just bought a new Remington 700 ADL in .308. Came with a scope and heavy varmit barrel for $450.00 at Dicks. The price was right and I'll replace the stock and scope as cash becomes available. Using Ultramax 168 gr HPBT remanufactued ammo I'm getting 4-5" groups at 300yds. I'm going to try some match grade ammo and see what kind of accuracy I can get. I can see that Remington was able to keep the cost low by selling it with the crap stock and the plastic trigger guard. I already had to order a new trigger guard, cracked the original torquing the screws down.
  20. If your fighting for your life, I doubt it would matter.
  21. GOB and Csspecs are correct. If the firing pin doesn't freely float back and forth when shaking the bolt, you may have a problem. Learn how to disassemble and clean the bolt, you'll be fine. http://www.surplusrifle.com/sks/boltdisassemble/hs.asp *edit for spelling
