  1. hey chaos guys, any chance yall will be releasing the hand guard adapter by itself? or better yet is it possible to leave off the top rail and not have issues with the lower installation?
  2. i've got a 7.62x39 model that i converted a couple years back. i want to thread the barrel. i've already got the shroud cut. i went on dinzag's site but there are sooooo many choices. i don't know which one to get. what's the industry standard for ak compensators? which one do i need to buy from him?
  3. Does anyone know if the new tapco handguard will work with an ultimak? or does it need to be cut like the standard one?
  4. okay. re-read it. it answered my questions. looks like i'll be looking for a polish akm and making my beloved saiga a safe queen. it's not going to be an effective battle rifle if it ever goes down and i can't swap parts or get replacement parts.
  5. okay so that addresses the bolt and firing pin. what about the carrier? recoil spring? gas piston? receiver cover?
  6. I want to start stockpiling some spare parts. I need to know what will fit off regular akms? I know trigger sets and pins will fit. what about bolt carriers, bolts, gas pistons etc?
  7. i believe they are sold seperatly, but i'm not sure. the ones i used were on a buddies ak. i'm still saving up for mine. i had other things come up, so i've had to reallocate the funds a couple of times.
  8. i'd go with the fse for sure. but imo you don't need one. learn to shoot your weapon like it is.
  9. oddly enough, no one. gabe is a one man operation, and is still in the process of getting his site up and an good email address. he's available through gotx though, and i'll pm you all that info. it was in the original post on UTGR, but i didn't want to seem like i was trying to pimp his stuff here. thus i removed the contact info.
  10. A buddy of mine just wrote an article that I thought was worth posting here as he doesn't have an account here. this is done with his blessing. The original can be found here OP by Eli Miller: K12 Forge is the hobby and passion turned small bussiness of a full time law enforcement officer in Kentucky. Being in the the occupation that he is, Gabe the owner and artisan of K12 knows the serious demand that there is for quality tools of the trade. Whether you are a carpenter, police officer, lawyer, or soldier, every job demands you have the best equipment. Gabe is the man when it come
  11. While Ear plugs can suffice in many shooting applications (god knows the surefire EP3s are), they may not be enough if there are mulitple firearms going off around you. Ear plugs may cause an "occlusion effect" An occlusion effect occurs when some object (like an unvented earmold) completely fills the outer portion of the ear canal. What this does is trap the bone-conducted sound vibrations in the space between the tip of the earmold and the eardrum. One way to prevent this from happening is to double up. Use not only ear plugs, but ear muffs as well. Not only will you be protecting t
