  1. As we like Tx-Zen, please limit his exposure to Groth on Saturday.
  2. Thanks for posting the pictures, as if Niner didn't rub it in enough at dinner about how much fun it was out at the Zone. Here's a warning to all....if you decide to go grind on some metal the night before you're supposed to meet up with TX-Zen and a truckload of toys, don't. Of course in true guy fashion, once the metal sliver became lodge in my eye, I then decided that I should put on the safety glasses. Sometimes my stupidity even amazes me.
  3. Looks great...how about some details on the handguard? Never mind, just looked at your other thread. I really like how the guards came out.
  4. I also saw a 7.62 Saiga during the morning news coverage. Amazing how much the stock handguard sticks out in a crowd.
  5. Does it lock up tight or is there a little wobble like with some of the other push button folders?
  6. Also, find a factory picture on the internet of the model you're going to look at in order to know the correct paint colors for that specific year as well as what stock stickers were on it and their locations. If the stickers are missing, look much closer for subtle crash marks such as scrapes on the frame or swingarm. Many times the owner will tell you that he just didn't like them and removed them, but more often then not, they've replace the plastic from a wreck and didn't reapply the stickers as new plastic comes without the stickers applied. Same goes for if it's painted a different co
  7. I did acknowledged the HP to weight difference, but are you telling me you think 430 lb crotch rocket is easier to maneuver than 680 lb barge? (I weighed mine with leather bags & gear) I would have killed for adequate breaks. The difference comes in at the rate of acceleration. All of modern 1000cc sportbikes will hit 90-100mph in first gear. At track days on one of our tighter circuits, these bikes are cruising around at 140mph and never going higher than 3rd gear. Additionally, the handling and suspensions are so razor sharp that one has to do little more than think about
  8. As someone who has only owned sportbikes, the above statement is BS. Anyone who says they have outgrown a modern 600cc sportbike such as a CBR or ZX6R better be able to produce a signed pro contract or they are full of it. I run into these guys all the time on 1000cc sportbikes who talk about how awesome they ride, but when I look at their rear tire I see a half inch of unused rubber on each side while my tires are worn all the way to each edge. Magically, once we hit the twisty roads they no longer seem to be able to keep up. But how can that be, they're on 1000cc sportbike...oh wait, I k
  9. **Warning long winded rambling post** Not sure how old you are, but please don't lie to yourself and say that you can get one of these as a first bike because you'll be able to control yourself. Just like the old adage, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely", so to does the power of these bikes. While the power levels (arguably) are too much for anyone, what makes them more dangerous for the new rider is that the power is completely deceiving. At normal speeds and just when putting around they are completely tame and docile which gives the new rider a false sense of security. New riders
  10. They both work the same....the second one just has the option of using your old trigger holes as additional fastening points.
  11. The helicopter looked to be a Cobra...Marines must have stopped in to scam on some Air Force chicks.
  12. I told him that it's punishing him for buying an AR.
  13. Not to pick on any one group, but it was like The Fast and The Furious, but with guns rather than riced out Honda Civics. At one point 4 or 5 of group were down range looking at their target while one of their buddies was standing back at the firing line playing with his pistol. The sad part is that they had absolutely zero comprehension as to why the R.O. was yelling at them or what was so dangerous.
  14. nope....don't have to install it if you don't want to
