  1. I just received 2 10 round mags from Dmitry Trofimov (m_gun @gunbroker) $97.00 delivered. Took exactly one month to receive from him. He's good ar returning email and the mags are brand new in factory wrappers. Here is the link: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=29014298

  4. Removal depends on whether or not yours is screwed into the receiver. On mine it is neccesary to remove the gas tube by lifting up the lever to the right of the rear sight and then prying the gas tube up from the rear and off. Then the forearm just slides off the front. It may also be neccesary to loosen or remove the front sling swivel. On some versions you need only to remove the screw (if you have one ) at the bottom front of the receiver to slide the forearm off.
  5. You are allowed to have only 10 foreign parts TOTAL on your gun to use a pistol grip, flash hider etc. The Saiga shotgun has 13 so you need to replace 3 parts with US made parts. If you ADD foreign made parts such as a foreign made pisto; grip or flash hider you need to replace another foreign part to keep the count to l0 foreign parts to be in compliance. Check the other forums (Saiga 12 & 7.62)for more info and parts sources.
  6. thanks ddhotbot, I'll take you up on that.
  7. Uh...sorry. Just figured out how to use search function on website. Please disregard...
  8. Hi, new here. Has anyone tried running reloads in their 410? Anyone have any tips for reloading for this? Anyone tried reloading the Barnual steel cases? Thanks
  9. Yes, the area that contacts the disconnector and trigger arms is shallower and has a notch cut out on the right side. Also I think when installed, the disconnector on a stock Saiga is slightly offset to the left, judging by a Saiga 410 which I also own(and will be converting to PG soon).
  10. For those of you kind enough to advise me (Indyarms, pistonring, et al) on this problem you'll be happy to know that replacing the Saiga trigger with the Tapco one solved this malfunction. Many thanks. Tom
  11. No, no joke. I'm not really familiar with these guns and the manuals are rather spare in their desciptions. That's why I appreciate this forum for all the helpful info and advice members provide. I've got it now, the tube lifts up with a little tap on it. Thanks, Tom
  12. How do you remove the gas tube on a Saiga? I screwed up and pushed the lever next to the rear sight too far and now can't see how to push it back without removing the gas tube. What's that lever for by the way? Thanks, Tom
  13. Yes, I used the original disconnector spring. I tried using a reduced power spring when assembling the rifle but found that the disconnector would not reliably hold either hammer. Thanks for asking. Cheers, Tom
  14. Thanks. I just swapped the hammers. The Saiga hammer has less contact area with the disconnector and has a notch in the right side of it(maybe for a different model rifle?) I lubed the trigger bushing and it seems to be plenty smooth. I can't try it out yet as it's dark where I live. Thanks again, Tom.
  15. The FCG I used is a Tapco double hook modified by Blackjack Buffers to clear the receiver. However. I reused the Saiga hammer in order to use the bolt hold open lever as the Tapco hammer boss is too wide. Maybe putting the Tapco hammer in will solve the problem, though as I posted earlier the disconnector always works while dry firing. Thanks for the advice, amd for all the good tips on this site. My conversion went very smoothly and could have been completed in about 45 minutes if I hadn't spent 2 hours messing around with the bolt hold open.
  16. I finished a pistol grip conversion on my Saiga 7.62 a couple of weeks back and finally got a chance to shoot it today. Works much better except for intermittent doubling or slam fires. Don't think it's the disconnector because I can't get it to fail while dry firing. Sometimes it will double after a misfire. Is it possible the bolt is short-cycling? This is my first rifle of the AK design so I don't know much about them. I also have a Saiga 410. I noticed that the firing pin in it is spring loaded. Is the 7.62's supposed to also be spring loaded. Appreciate any advice, the guys at the range w
  17. Randy at Blackjack Buffers has double hook FCG's that he has modified to work with single hook receivers. They work well and cost $7.50 extra.
