  1. Sorry for posting in the wrong place and for adding links. As you suspected, I didn't read the rules, but I did spend a looong time here looking for info on the proper sling to buy. Maybe (one of) you guys should sell the parts(?) PatriotMusic
  2. I thought you all might like to know about my recent experience with Mississippi Auto Arm's terrible customer service. I have a Saiga-12 in the "Hunter Configuration" with the factory stock. Unfortunately, I live in CT where the CT Assault Weapons Ban does not allow me to own a stock with a "conspicuous pistol grip...", or a folder, so there's no point in spending the money on a new stock. Anyway, I spent a lot of time looking for a sling. Mississippi Auto Arms advertises a 1 1/4" Blackhawk sling and suggests a Blackhawk swivel kit. When the kit arrived, I saw there was no way to attach i
  3. I'd like to see that video placed as a sticky under a new category called something like "Assembly/Disassembly Instructions". PatriotMusic
  4. Yup, that's the one! Took me 1 minute after seeing that video. Thanks a lot, man. My problem was that I wasn't inserting the bolt support into the rails. When the front of the bolt support is just barely in the tube, the backend has to be ALL the way back. Otherwise, one or both sides will not slide under the rails and will eventually stop short when you try to slide it forward. All the way back so the bolt support can go under the rails. Thanks again guys. NOW I can say how easy it is! PatriotMusic
  5. Thanks. What's so frsutrating about it is that EVERYONE here says it's so easy once you figue it out. Man, do I want a video! Or better yet, to be able to watch someone do it right next to me. Thanks for the reply. I'm sure someone will eventually describe it in such a way that it will "click". PatriotMusic Hi patriotmusic, the same thing has happened to me, you are not alone, you well get it back in man, just relax ok. you have to put the lug in the groove and rotate the bolt until the little keyway looking thing is straight, there is a youtube video under cleaning the saiga
  6. I cleaned my new S-12 for the first time and I'm having a hell of a time getting the bolt & bolt carrier back in. I've searched for photos or videos showing the correct placement of the bolt in the carrier, but every video I've found either skips reassembly, or has a modified bolt. (Mine is the standard "Hunter" configuration) I sure feel stoopid not being able to reassemble it. Thanks all. PatriotMusic
  7. Look, I don't want to get into an argument with you, but I am willing to have an honest discussion. (Maybe this is best done in another area of the boards though.) In this thread, we're talking about crappy American-made ammo sold at an American-owned store. The reason so little is made in United States is because of the unions... voting for higher wages despite lower quality... the entitlement syndrome. (The same people often vote for minimum wage laws for themselves while encouraging under-the-table illegal immigrants, making it all but impossible for small businesses to compete without
  8. Yeah, Joey is a friend of mine. Did some night shooting with him a couple months ago. I actually already ordered one for compliance at his recommendation, but didn't know it would help whimpier rounds cycle. Thanks for the heads up. I'll try it when the tappet arrives and let you know. PatriotMusic
  9. Thank you for the reply and the repair. It's really nice to have a working Saiga-12 and Cadiz was a pleasure working with. I noticed when I fired the Winchester, it sounded whimpy compared to the Federal, but the specs appear the same. Just out of curiosity, do you know what makes them different? Thanks again. PatriotMusic
  10. Hi, I just got my Saiga-12 back from Cadiz Gun Works and took it out for the first time. It was set to position #2 by them so I started with some Winchester #7 shot I got from Walmart. Every round failed to eject, so I changed it to position #1 and tried again. Same thing so I tried some 00 buck and then some slugs. No problems at all. After about 15 rounds, the following ammo cycled properly: Remington 2 3/4 00BK Winchester 2 3/4 1 Oz. Slugs Federal 2 3/4, 1 1/8 Oz, #7 1/2 Shot but Winchester 2 3/4, 1 1/8 Oz. #7 1/2 shot will still not eject properly. Anyone else have a similar
  11. Man, you guys are great. Thanks for the fast and accurate responses. They sure don't make this complaincy stuff easy to understand! But I'm looking forward to King Armory's Tappet. PatriotMusic www.PatriotMusic.com
  12. I've read many posts here about 922R Compliancy, but I'm still confused... I have a Saiga-12 (IZ-109) in the Hunter configuration from RA. (Keep in mind that I live in Connecticut where pistol grips, folding stocks, etc. are illegal.) 1. In order to legally use AGP 10-round magazines, how many original parts would I need to replace? 2. I'm buying one of King Armory's Saiga-12 Tappets. Does this give me the magic number? 3. If not, or if it's questionable, what parts are the best/cheapest way to be compliant with high-cap, American-made mags? Thanks, all. PatriotMusic
  13. From what everyone here is saying, the loose-fitting tolerances of the Saiga-12 explain these sorts of problems. I bought it and had to immediately ship it back for repair, and I haven't gotten it back yet. Apparently, they make the repairs quickly and so far, I'm impressed with the two companies (Russian-American seems to have very good customer service. Their authorized repair company is Cadiz Gun Works in Ohio. And they're very nice people) On the other hand, while some call these loose-fitting specs an advantage, I still call it bad quality control on the part of the Russian factory. T
  14. I just got my new Saiga-12 (from Russian American Armory) a few days back and finally had a chance to fire it today. Unfortunately, the factory 5-round magazine does not seat properly. It's as if the pivoting clip on the gun that's suppossed to hold the magazine in, is too long by a 16th of an inch. I examined every part on both the magazine and the gun... it just doesn't fit. I even tried both force and slamming it (both within reason). And it doesn't matter whether the magazine is empty or full. Any ideas? No posts here on this problem (that I found). Thanks all. PatriotMusic
  15. My understanding (and I could be wrong here), is that the key words are "at least two of the following". Meaning, if you already have one "scary" feature (like a telescoping stock), then you can't also have either a fixed magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds, nor a detachable magazine. Keep in mind that CT, NJ, and Mass have the highest per-capita concentration of lawyers in the U.S. (Cali's probably up there too) so the Socialists' means of implementing draconian gun laws is to specify both weapons by model, description, and by using intentionally vague terminolgy. The later insures c
