I am looking forward to the 5.45 and 7.62 mags. At the price Mike is quoting, they will be well worth it. I am still hoping for the S12s but lets face it, Mike runs a business and the direction he has taken is for the better. Loyal S12 fans like me can wait. Until then, we will has some AK 74/47 mag goodness.

I have two of the Promag 12 drums and after about 400+ rounds through each, they have been 100% trouble free. I don't own their 20s but I do have a MD20 which is just as flawless. I like the 12 due to compactness and ease of loading. As to mags. The factory 8s are the best. They are extremely pricey (I have one only). The AGP 10 rnd sticks are great, I have 10 so far. Surefires are good too and can be cut down to the capacity you prefer. All my Surefires are cut to 8 rnds (6 so far). Also if you can, get or cut a piece of glass to just under the inside diameter of the gas chamber and slid it in for a better view of the gas ports. Taking a cue from the Wile E. Coyote school of gunsmithing, I used a mirror smooth butter knife to get a better view of them. Worked pretty good.

I ordered mine on Thursday before Memorial Day and it arrived the day after Memorial day. That's five days including a Sunday and a Holiday. Talk about fast. Would it be better to go with #6 shot rather than 7 1/2 or 8 for the S12? Now that I have my TAC47 auto plug, I am ready to adjust it for low brass. I currently have Remington and Federal bulk packs in 7 1/2 and 8 but I wanted to pick up some #6 as well. Any suggestions on what brand and best place to get it for best $$? Wally World, Bass Pro, Etc.....?

AGP now sells floor plates to allow you to do the exact same thing. That is you have to buy the floor plates.

Many good views here. Maybe a combo of all of them? To diversify one's business is a smart move. Besides, the capital from the sales of the 47 / 74 mags would help in perfecting the S12 mags. Not to mention the lessons learned in making the 47 / 74 mags could be applied to the S12s. I do not mind waiting for a good thing. I wish Mike all the best of luck in what he is doing. Brass brush and elbow grease. Tornado works great too. A buddy of my uses it on a rod chucked to his cordless drill. He is done in 2 minutes. Nice shiny barrel.

I purchased my S12 already converted by a local smith back in 09 (It's a RAA with three unobstructed ports). He is a good friend and a master smith with over 35 years experience. He had not broken the gun in so I used steps 1 and 3 to start off. I ran 400+ rounds of Remington slugger and 00 buck through it on setting 1 with zero issues (all 2 3/4" BTW). I used various mags to include AGP, Surefire and two Promag 12 drums, all ran 100%. After step 1 I broke the S12 down and polished the internals with my Dremel. When mine was converted, Don Quinnell of Don's Gun Shop kept the Russian hammer and modded it a bit. It's been working flawless for two years now. No spring arm walking whatsoever.
