  1. Been reading through the forum about different barrell sizes. I was thinking of cutting my 12 back and perm installing a breaching muzzle break with pin and silver solder according to atf specs. It adds 2 inches to the barrell lenght, so I was thinking about cutting the 19 back to 16.5 and then adding the break. Anyone know what the limit is to barrel lenght before having to open the gas port? Thanks
  2. edit, wrong thread, had too many windows open
  3. http://fivesevenforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480 Here is a list of US agencies using th p90 or FiveseveN. You could contact them to see what they think. There are only a few real world shootings with the handgun, but was favorable. There was an incident a while back with the Duluth, GA where a ricochet caught another officer in the upper leg/butt region. For a service pistol, I would stick with a 9/40/45 of your choice. Don't be cheap, get a good firearm like a Glock, Sig, HK, Springfield. This is your life you are protecting. Find a large gun store and handle everything and
  4. Picked up a Converted saiga 12 with PG/Ace Folding stock for $500. That brings my collection to all three Shotgun family members. Now time to start working on the rifle family. Now just need some new saigasolutions 10 round mags.
  5. Glad to hear you picked it up. Now post picks when you get that baby converted.
  6. Thanks for the input. I had converted a 410 over to PG not to long ago and love it. I have decided to get both. Hopefully the 8/10 round mags will be available soon.
  7. My cousin found a saiga 20 used for 189 with scope and mount in Tennessee yesterday. Checking to see if it is worth it, or should I go ahead and get a converted 12 for $640? Not sure what I would do with it, other than the coolness factor. Thanks

    rethread barrel?

The unthreaded tip area is 1/2 inch. I'll use a 1/2 28 die to thread it. I got the FH you suggested and am having the tip opened up to 1/2 inch which I will thread with a 1/2 28tpi tap. The remainder will be opened to 5/8 and I'll thread the tip on instead of using set screws. I may end up welding the muzzlebrake on.
  9. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=148191 take a look at ths one.
  10. I've got an 870 express with 18 inch barrel and extended magazine tube. Its tightened down on the tube no problems, and have sent several slugs and 00 through it without fail. The laser is dead accurate on slugs at 25 yards, and hasn't shifted that I am aware of. I've taken it out and done some night shooting with it. Its kinda like the slug follows the laser, and the shot follows the spread of the flashlight. Great bargain at the price as well as a great little addon to ascope for varmit hunting at night.
  11. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=148191 Here's something I use on all my shotguns and some of my varmit rifles with scope. It screws down well on the magazine or barrel. It's basically a 1 inch scope wing with two smaller rings that the flashlight and laser go in. And it comes with a switch or a pressure switch, whichever makes you grin.
  12. I have a S&W 686 and have to say it is one of the best revolvers I've ever owned. After 14 years, and it looks just as good as the day it was bought, and the cylinder is still just as tight, with a good smooth DA trigger pull.
  13. My pleasure. The trigger stop doesn't have to be fancy, I use one of those rubber feet for elctronics to keep them from scratching the wood. Other ideas http://1bad69.com/keltec/whitestop.htm My dad is a retired police officer, and he always said the one thing they taught him at the academy was how to make holes in a paper target. The first time he was in a "shoot out" It was across the hood of a car with him on on side and a guy who had just robbed a convenient store on the other side. All he remembered was pulling the trigger and thinking someone is actually shooting at me.
  14. I've been prone to do the limp wrist at times as well. One time I had a cut one my trigger finger...and the only pistol that bothered it was the 380. For a long time I was actually fun shy with the little fellow, just because my finger remembered the sting that sharp recoil caused on the old finger. I would definitely invest in a trigger stop, as it helps with control and recoil, as you don't pull back so much. As for the lady slipper, in theory great setup, in practice its horrible. It puts and awkward hold on the gun and takes time getting use to it. http://pocketslipper.com/install
  15. I love mine. I have the IOM model and got a custum iwb holster from rusty sherrick, that works great. I was out at the range the other day and was playing with a new Norinco model 37 (ithaca 37 clone) I had bought. Great little shotgun, but hates low brass. Anyway, I was going back to the truck when I thought, hey empty shotgun shells. So I set 20 out at 25 yards, and took out 23 with the 5/7 open sight. The two I missed were pulled shots. I went through them pretty fast as the low recoil of the pistol is amazing, but it does make a good flash and boom.
