  1. I'm located in NC... Is the LRBHO gun a collector's item? It just seems to be a hassle since many of the after market mags won't work with the gun without modification. I'm still not 100% sure I want to sell it. Thanks for the interest though.
  2. I also have this problem with my factory LRBHO Saiga. My MD20 and AGP mags won't even fit inside the magwell, the neck of mags is too wide for the magwell, but the ProMag drums and factory non-lrbho 5 rounders fit just fine. I decided not to shoot the gun, as I would like to sell it as a NIB gun, or trade it for a non-lrbho gun, so I don't know how it'll function with the progmag drums and other non-lrbho factory magazine. I'm thinking it was a mistake getting the lrbho model.
  3. Just picked mine up today. I got the LRBHO model from K-Var. Here's what I found out as far as aftermarket magazines are concerned. 1. Old style factory 5 rounder work fine and cycle the action, but won't lock the bolt open. 2. Korean 5 rounder, I bought it a while back, I think it's Korean, same as 1. 3. AGP 10 round mags, will seat in the mag well, but I can't seem to cycle the action. I haven't applied any real pressure, just used the same amount of force used with the Korean and old style 5 rounders. 4. 20 round MD drum won't even fit in the mag well. So what I gather so far
  4. How do you get on the Tromix build list for May? Thanks
  5. I was thinking of cutting my barrel down to 18" and permenately installing a Tromix flash hider on it. So the total length would be 18" including the flash hider. Any disadvantages to this setup? I'm going to have this work done professionally by a licensed dealer. Thanks, -R
  6. 1. It's both easier and quicker to remove/install than the shepherd's crook. 2. Yes. If you don't mind, would you please provide me a link to number 2. Much appreciated. Thanks, -R
  7. 1)Is there any advantages to using the PLATE over the Tromix sheperds crook axis pin retaining spring? 2)Is there some sort of Tritium night sights available for the saiga 12, or for that matter anything that might fit a Saiga 12. Thanks, -R
  8. Mike, This is just an idea I'm throwing out there. You're certainley not obligated to do this. I think it would be nice to offer those who paid $260+ an offer of paying $60 to acquire an additional drum. Just a thought. Thanks
  9. Hi Everyone, Ordering the parts for my first conversion. Am I missing anything else, other than the Dremel tool and a drill? 1. GRIP-SAIGA, AK47 SAW-STYLE PISTOL 2. RECEIVER BLOCK INTERNAL STOCK ADAPTER 3. STOCK-FOLDING MECHANISM SAIGA/AK47 4. STOCK-TROMIX SAIGA 5. TRIGGER GROUP-TROMIX SAIGA FIRE CONTROL GROUP 6. TRIGGER GUARD-SAIGA 12 TROMIX D-I-Y 7. SAIGA/AK SCREW BUILD SET Thanks, -R
  10. I think I've enough material regarding the conversion process from reading all the posts, and I feel like I'm ready now to do my conversion. 3 simple questions though. 1. After removing the piece of metal where the new trigger group is supposed to go, from looking at conversion pictures, it seems that the metal there is "bare", what kind of finish do you guys recommend, I'm looking for something very simple. I'll eventually get the whole thing professionally refinished. Just looking for something right now to prevent it from rusting, I guess more protective than aesthetic. 2. What size
  11. Thanks for the information guys. It's very informative... I guess the point I was attempting to make was, if you take two separate S12 shotguns and feed them the same low powered ammo., and they're both on setting 1, it seems they should function the same, but from what I've been reading here in previous posts, that's not necessarily the case due to the wide variations in the number of gas ports each gun has. So if gun A feeds the same low-powered ammo. on setting 1 while gun B needs to set on 2, it would seem that there's an issue with gun A, since it's letting in too much gas into the gas tu
  12. Hi Everyone, First post to the forum. I've recently purchase a NIB Saiga 12 shotgun. After reading multiple posts regarding the number of gas ports your shotgun is supposed to have. This got me thinking about the correct functionality of how your shotgun should behave when it comes to the gas setting of 1 or 2. Some members have reported that their 4-hole shotguns cycle all the low brass ammo on setting 1, wouldn't that indicate an incorrect function of the shotgun, since it makes the reason behind adjusting the gas port setting useless. It seems the correct behavior of the shotgun should
