  1. Russ, I have not cruised this board lately, but I would like to add my two cents here. As you have found, the trust is the way to go, no prints, no pictures, no hat-in-the-hand trying to get CLEO signoff (been there done that in Cuyahoga County). Small Arms Review (March 2007 Vol. 10 No.6 pg.16) opened my eyes to trusts NFA ownership that I thought out of my reach. House Bill 347 http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/article3085.html may make it easier to get CLEO sign off, but if Gerald T. Mcfaul (or your particular Sheriff for that matter) wants to be ass and not sign, then I won't bother h
  2. September 1st is 5 days he told me to send it in but we have not worked out the details....Thats why I am asking. Yeah, not f'ing fair!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got one I wanna SBS and now your ahead of me!!!!! (well, I would'a done it too if I though I could'a got away with it)
  3. Here is a cut and paste from a post I did a while back with the part numbers I used to make mine a soft shooter. As far as recoil reduction goes, this is what I did: I used a 16oz. mercury recoil reducer in the stock http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/Pro...COIL+SUPPRESSOR with a Pachmayr triple magnum recoil pad http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/pro...x?p=9743&s= and had the barrel mag-na-ported http://www.magnaport.com/sgun.html I lightly siliconed the mercury recoil reducer into the top of the stock cavity, filled the rest of the void with GreatStuff foam, trimmed
  4. Heres some pics I took of the Mag-na-porting. My camera skills are not that good, so you'll have to cut me some slack on the quality. I was looking to reduce the recoil as much as possible, so I also put a mercury recoil reducer in the stock, fitted a Pachmyer triple magnum recoil pad and use a Buffer Tech buffer. All that combined gave me a shotgun that has very little recoil, even with slugs, and I'm talking able to shoot slugs all day long.
  5. Absolutely!!! Also, what did it do for recoil management? I had Tony talked into this and then I talked myself out of it after a little research. Thanks I'll upload the pics tonight after work. It helps with the recoil, no doubt.
  6. I sent my S12 off to have it Mag-na-ported. It came back and was still able to run WalMart wimp shells through it on the low setting. I can post pictures if you want. I don't know about the back boring.
  7. McUzi.................heh, heh,..........I think he has been banned from every gunboard on the net. I saw his name come up on ARF about a month ago. NCshooter; I didn't know he got canned, I have not logged on in a while either, so between Nov.06 and now he must of got canned. What did he get banned for any way?
  8. Yeah its thin, but it'll never collapse on ya'. As far as recoil reduction goes, this is what I did: I used a 16oz. mercury recoil reducer in the stock http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/Pro...COIL+SUPPRESSOR with a Pachmayr triple magnum recoil pad http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/pro...x?p=9743&s= and had the barrel mag-na-ported http://www.magnaport.com/sgun.html I lightly siliconed the mercury recoil reducer into the top of the stock cavity, filled the rest of the void with GreatStuff foam, trimmed it down and fitted the recoil pad to the stock. I can shoot s
  9. Oh well, too rich for my blood. Someday (unless the demmies ban it)... AegisDei; Keep an eye on http://www.knesekguns.com/price.php , he has the best price on Barretts. Thats where I got mine. The one in the original post is M82A1 CQ. Knesek guns has them new in box for $7195.00. He is a stocking dealer so there is no wait. The one you saw listed on Gun Broker is NOT a M107. Its just a M82A1 with rust stains on it that costs significantly more than what a new in box one costs. P.S. If you want one, it would be a good idea to get it, cause they will not go down in
  10. I am willing to bet it took more than an hour. Second, lets see a mag dump on video. I don't think with the follower angle of the USAS12 your going to get 10 flawless feeds.
  11. Is this what you meant?? Thats the area where the carrier will contact, I can't really tell because there is not enough contrast in the picture. If you see wear that has a shape similar to the carrier then it's a fired gun. If there is lots of wear, then its fired alot. PS, Get a recoil buffer. I prefer Buffer Technologies, others recommend BlackJack. Either one will pad carrier contact with the rear trunion.
  12. Don't worry about DD. The USAS12 and STRIKER/STREET SWEEPER went DD because of Loyd Benstein and a perfect storm of media and antigun politicians. This DD thing has absolutely been beat to death here and its not settled. It just gets everyones back up. (for the record I say it aint gonna happen) I can attest to the affectiveness of having magna-porting done http://www.magnaport.com/sgun.html had both Pro Port and Pigeon porting done. I also installed a mercury recoil reducer and Pachmeyer triple magnum recoil pad. I can shoot boxes and boxes of 00 buck and slugs, and not start flinchin
  13. I just caught this thread, and the first picture of your bolt head looks like it has lots of powder residue/carbon on it. Definately is not new in box. Look on the bright side, its an AK design, and it was meant to be abused. When I got my first one, (back in the CDNN days) Me and my brother ran close to 2k rounds through it to see what would break. Nothing went wrong. Needless to say, I bought a few more.
