  1. Let my son shoot a rifle for the first time and was very surprised at how easy he picked it up. He was shooting a Marlin 60 and was able to put most of them in center mass at 25 yards. Wanting to see how well the gun was shooting I tried for a piece of clay debris about 50yards out. I hit it after 3, the size was about 1/8 of a clay. While I am okay with hitting it after 3 but noticed that my eye sight is starting to get fuzzy. So the question is would a red dot help with this? I use a bowling pin setup at 100yds for my 308 and 7.62x39, and I have noticed that I am not hitting them with
  2. Ammoman has 1000rnds of Wolf FMJ or JHP for 219.00 shipped free. Have only ordered from them once, but had no issues.

So I finally decided to go shooting now that its warm and burned through 500ish rounds. I have decided I hate paper targets. So I made up this for 100yds. Ignore the garage, its a tad messy Has anyone had any experience with pins with a .308? Also worried about the chain getting shot to pieces, any tips.

  6. Let me know if the local interest doesn't pan out. I am interested in the 7.62x39. What part of WV are you in?
  7. Finally ordering the parts to do my conversion. Will be ordering from Dinzag. How durable is the AK Folding Buttstock from Tapco? I like some of the others but to be honest the price is a huge problem. Should I just wait and save for the better furniture? Also what is a good option for a bipod? Again please keep in mind I dont want to spend to much.
  8. King did you call him? Lol when I spoke to him he said that he just got a call from another guy about a Saiga. If he cant do it then I plan on taking a look at Cadiz Gun Works and seeing what they charge, but they seem to be a bit back logged. Either way Ill post on here if I find anything good or bad.
  9. Thanks for the number, called today said he would check the prices for the parts and get back to me with a quote.
  10. OK i am a tool and I know it. I can tear apart a computer and be fine with it but my Saiga scares me. So anyone know a smith that is comfortable with Saiga conversions close to Charleston West Virginia? OK even as I type this I'm thinking that I have shamed myself into just doing it LOL! So the second option is make fun of me endlessly and maybe Ill grow a pair and just do it!
  11. Having just purchased my 308, and still agonizing over the 500$ for 10 mags, this statement has made me wet, and not in that moist way but that OMG get a towel kind of way. Please post more!!!!
  12. Appears that I have the 74mp03 side rail. So from a fast search I see that limits my options. Scout mounts, dust cover mounts or SVD mount. Not sure I like the dust cover mounts. Will be placing an order for the svd and see what happens. Thanks for the help guys. Still kinda worried about taking a dremel to my gun, but hell let the newness wear off and who knows lol. Will probably spend the weekend looking at reloading.
  13. Hey guys looked over the forums and just have a few questions. First please understand that I have limited knowledge on guns, so please don't judge to harshly. 1. The pg conversion seems to be simple enough but was wanting to know if there were "shops" that would do this conversion for you? Or should I just look under gunsmiths in the yellowpages and hope to get someone that knows the saiga. 2. Have read so many mixed reviews on the methods for mounting a simple scope on the 308, what if any are your thoughts on the best method. 3. Ammo wise seems that if it shoots well a
