    Thank You!!!

I was thinking of building up a stop so the bump from the safety would just come off the top of the receiver and stop. That way while in safe it would also block the movement of the bolt, there is a millimeter of space available between the safety and the dust cover to do it.

    Thank You!!!

So with a little work my conversion is almost done Tapco Double Hook FCG Ace Folding mechanism Ace Stock Tromix Weld in receiver plate Tromix DIY trigger guard So the story begins with a IZ-107 thats the 24" barreled one, that i bought from my local gun shop on a whim, Actually i traded some Radway green 5.56 ammo for it. I had seen and read about Saiga's in the past, and fell in love. I tig welded in the rear plate angled downwards as suggested here and filled in the old trigger pin holes. cut the trigger hole to fit the double hook. ground down the radius of the gas plug s
  3. I completely agree. I hope they do take on the challenge of this. As far as fitment issues, i'm sure a file or a dremel tool would make the mag fit. just like you do with the others... i even had to modify my OEM mag slightly for better function..
  4. Thanks.... I went 90 from the bottom of the receiver. Tig'ed better than i thought it would. Filled in the holes while i was at it. Got excited while welding and forgot that when the tungsten is glowing white, that mean its hot and i need to pay more attention on not letting it hit my skin..... Also toying with the idea of welding on the DIY trigger guard. My access to a tig welder is for a limited time as i Transfer this summer and my next unit most likely won't have a tig welder.
  5. WOW!!!!! Larry at C-Products just barely a couple days ago mentioned the interest of the possibly in developing a mag for the Saiga. No prototypes yet, not working production models yet, most likely not even on paper yet. Heck he might look at it all and say screw this.... Criminal Poet kind of jumped the gun a bit, got a little too excited, and was disrespectful. Don't hate the idea because of him. If C-Products does make one that works, wouldn't that be good for the saiga-12 community? Another manufacturer in the market might bring prices down some too. Since i'm a complete noob
  6. Well I too have been in contact with Larry about these mags. Advised him of some of the common flaws of the plastic mags. In fact i had criminal poet beat by just under month on the Mag request on ar15.com. I will admit i am a complete boot to the Saiga world as i just completed my conversion, and i am no expert, just know what i have read here. and what i learn on my own in the past month. I do know this... Larry runs a Magazine production company, that is his business. When the high power service rifle shooting community asked for Stainless Steel Straight 20rd mags. He delivered,
  7. I see what your talking about.. Might weld on monday
  8. understood. my problem is my access to a tig welder ends in june. i won't have money for the folder and stock until after then. Was going to weld on the back plate and trigger guard As soon as possible, and possibly some HK sights. and finish with the install of the stock after my transfer this summer. I know my next unit will not endorse me working on firearms at work, like my current one tolerates.
  9. Another question is why the 2 to 3 degree angling downward of the buttstock???
  10. Getting ready to do a conversion, got the Tromix weld in plate. Do i weld it in 90 degrees from the barrel? Or is it off set some???
