  1. Haven't been on here for a while but having gone to a gun show yesterday I got the bug to see what new "toys" might be out there for the Saiga. I was surprised to see one guy had (2) 7.62's for $500 each and (3) .223 16"'s for $525 each. I was feeling really good because I got mine for around $225 if memory serves me. Was thinking of getting another one till I saw that price but now I know it looks like he was gouging quite a bit. When I went by before leaving he had sold out of the 7.62's and had sold 1 of the .223's.
  2. I'm not sure WTF this guy's talking about, and not sure he does either. All I know is I've been on here for a long time and have gained a lot of knowledge which I appreciate. We all come here for different reasons but we all come because of the Saiga. We've all learned something on here and that's the whole point. Lighten the hell up, respect the opinions of others; if don't like something someone says, ignore it and move on. While you're at it, this is the good old USA, English is spoken here, give it a try; others might actually understand what the hell you're trying to say!!! Above all else
  3. Oldpaths, Which shop are you getting these from and did they have anything left. Was thinking of picking up a second .223. Thanks and let us know how it goes converting. dgunnar
  4. Not to hijack this thread but I have a question that goes to some of the discussion relative to the aluminum mags. I was curious if anyone with the adapter installed, and using aluminum mags, also has a bullet guide installed. If so does it have any effect? Was thinking of adding one, for use of both style mags since I have a few bulgarian and galil mags which lock in (with some wobble now due to opening up for the adapter, not a complaint just an observation). I know I read the bullet guide should not be an issue but this statement was probably based on evaluation with P-Mags (Nathan?). Just
  5. Up here in NH I just put my name on a waiting list for a second .223 at one local shop. On the rack they had (1) 7.62 @ $449 (1) 12ga @$599 They also had a nice VEPR for $799, and one AR for $1100, pile of mini-14's for $800+ (absolutely insane) The shop told me Saiga's were on allocation and that they had no way of knowing when they would be getting more. Glad I got my first one when they were only $250. At the last show a few weeks back there wasn't a .223 or 7.62 to be had. I saw one .308 for $699 and a handful of shotguns for $699 to $799
  6. I know what you mean about being concerned about taking a drill to a "perfectly" good weapon. I've owned mine for 4 years and finally chose to go ahead and do it; it was so relatively easy I don't know why I waited. I now consider it "almost perfect" as I still have a few more things I want to do. The video definately helped me out as well as reading through the posts here. The hardest part for me was the removal of the plate on the bottom. A dremel with a grinding stone really comes in handy here. The bolt hold open was a little bit of a pain and there are a couple of methods for putting this
  7. I'm in NH and just converted my .223 and it was very easy. Where abouts are you? I'd be willing to steer you along but you would need to do the work. Again, it's very easy.
  8. +1 for Greg. I purchased this adapter with the CAA Stock and love it. Rock solid and slid right in! Having trouble uploading photos or I'd include one. Can anyone point me in the right direction, the help section didn't "help" to much.
  9. A little off topic but has anyone tried the Tapco AR mags with the adapter or care to comment on them vs. the Pmag's.
  10. Nathan, As a former Product Development Director let me say bringing a new product to market is never easy and you are to be commended. In what appears to be the favorite words of our new president, "Let me be clear"... I like my adapter, only I mean what I'm saying and I'm not trying to muddy the water. You have some of the issues I had in getting my unit installed which caused failures to feed with hand cycling. Nothing major, but still may need some tweaking as I haven't yet had an opportunity to fire it. I believe you based the dimensions and fit on the Pmag which is a nice looking mag
  11. I'm gathering items to finally do a full conversion (also waiting on my AR adapter from Magnolia). I'm looking at stock options and wanted to know if anyone's used the ATI Strikeforce folding stock. If you have a photo of this on your gun I'd appraciate seeing it. (I have searched the forum and haven't been able to find anything). Thanks, dgunnar
  12. I picked up 6 a couple of days ago and when they say used they mean it. A little rougher condition than I was expecting but they should work, which all that matters!
  13. Unfortunately, no. Just moved to this town, and don't even know where the range is. I know a police officer here, and he suggested some range time, but it hasn't happened yet... Just curious if you've had an opportunity to give these a try. I just ordered six galil's and am interested in knowing how you've made out with the magpul's. thanks, dgunnar
  14. Haven't been around for awhile but with the recent change in Congress thought I'd better get my act together and get while the getting is good (New proposed AWB). I currently have a 223 unconverted and was looking to do so. In digging around I found a imported Saiga folder/ PG for about $100. My question is this, if I get this and install it what else would I need to do in order to be compliant with 922r? Thanks for any input, dgunnar

    223 mags

This is true, which sucks because I mistakenly bought some waffle mags that snapped right into my .223 with no modification neccessary, only to realize they were in the wrong pile on the gun show table and were actually 7.62. Now I'll just need to get something in 7.62 so I can use the mags!
