  1. Personally, the carry handle is a useful feature and the optics rail is a bonus. I had my POSP before the AES-10B so I bought the rifle to put together a more accurate "area denial weapon" as I refer to it as it isn't a Sniper or even a DM rifle.
  2. After shooting at different Kevlar soft armor and ballistic plates with numerous calibers, I wouldn't be so confident that round will "hole saw" itself through armor like a pumpkin. The rotation isn't proportioned to the velocity. Even a slow 9mm would enter too fast for the spin of the round to attempt to saw through it. Ever try to cut up soft Kevlar armor? Doesn't cut easily with EMT shears or even a razor blade. Decent soft armor will stop a hot 9mm anyway and if it is preceeded with a plate, you are pissing in the wind to stop a threat without a head shot. That's where training come
  3. Chaos HK irons with Aimpoint Comp M2 in Aimpoint's low mount co witnesses great on mine.
  4. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/01/daniel-zimmerman/g2/ Who would want a 96 gr round that disappates it energy upon impact instead of something like a proven +P 135 gr round that will definitely incapacitate a bad guy with less chance he is going to stay up shooting back? The hunting rounds in full copper don't fragment and disappate energy like these do although they do lack the density of other proven big game cartridges. Elk and Deer don't shoot back in my experiences killing them but I never had to track them anywhere either because the ammo I used dropped them in their tracks. I
  5. I must have been in the wrong Stan as I witnessed plenty of rain and snow there.
  6. I run a MOE with Magpul's 3/4" cheek riser on my S12 with an Aimpoint Comp M2 in Aimpoint's low mount on an extended Chaos rail. Works fine for me. If you manage to break the riser, Magpul will replace it.
  7. Wow, that sucks! Sounds like a one of a kind rifle, not like a normal Mauser bring back rifle.
  8. I remember when friends of mine were pitching in on cases of them just to get one rifle. I balked, had way too much money going into making cars go faster at the time and didn't need a stripper clip fed x39 since I already had a couple AKs.
  9. THEY will know you are home if you are on a landline! Lol
  10. Brother, I will +100 this statement! I don't own any select fire or full auto weapons but a few of my shooting buddys do. It is truly a rich man's sport. My buddy has a HK MP-5K, Sterling, MP-40, Browning 1919, MG42, and now my other friend's M-16. They are all great weapons and I have fired them all numerous times but hands down is his 1942 MG42 for which he also has the 7.62 NATO barrel making it a MG3 is my favorite. Hitler's Buzzsaw cannot match any other General Purpose Machine Gun in my opinion. I have extensive experience humping the M-60, M-240B, and the M-249 SAW (which really i
  11. I'm a Northern Boy Damn Yankee Military Transplant here. Born and raised in the Great White North, spent the majority of my Military Career in cold, wet, snowy, shitty weather. Transplanted at Hurlburt Field in 2004, Retired here in 2008. Thing is here, road crews are not equipped to deal with the ice. Snow is good. Ice underneath is very bad. Keep your new rig home if you can and keep it wrinkle free! Us Northerners may laugh at the big Winter Storm Warning here as we are used to accumulations of snow in feet per day but we all know the ice is a killer. Stay your ass home brother!
  12. So with all the tin foil hats out there, what are your SHTF comms solutions to keep the NSA from intercepting your transmissions? I don't care, anything you use that utilizes radio frequency, they can triangulate where you transmit from as well as listen in on you. It doesn't end with cell phones or the internet. If you are going to drop off the grid, who in the hell would bring a cell phone unless they were truly addicted to Angry Birds?
  13. You might get to use the transfercase tonight Dr. Getting slick in our area!
  14. Good luck with that bullshit tactic. If you think you can retrieve a grenade from a pouch, gain a positive grip on the spoon, and pull a pin quicker than someone drawing a handgun....then throw it?...Do you practice your grenade extraction and employment often? In my mind set, if you arm and chuck a grenade at me, shit just got real and you are going to inherit a controlled pair in your chest before I go prone. Even if I get to prone, chances are a live one cooking off will still incapacitate me so I might as well make sure you are incapacited beforehand. +1 just buying a few more second
  15. Yes, but Magpul stated from the beginning that the all polymer mags were produced to get the specs correct before manufacturing the ones with the metal inserts. They claim they are coming. Curious to see the cost.
  16. You are in Destin. How is it 60 miles to get a Subaru, Honda, or Toyota serviced when you probably bought the Jeep in Fort Walton Beach where all the previous mentioned brands have dealerships? That's across the pass, across Okaloosa Island, over Brooks Bridge into Ft. Walton. The only Jeep dealer in Destin is Elite Jeeps which isn't a real Jeep dealer. Quit bullshitting the crowd here in regards to your purchase and why you purchased it. WTF...Over?
  17. We used MBITRs and they are the shit. Multi Band Intra Team Radio. We could talk on one freq within the team, use another for CASEVAC, and another for CAS, etc. Thing is, even if you got a hold of a couple, you need the software suite and appropriate equipment to program the unit. All modern Military comms are encrypted so it's not like your daddy's Ham. Frequencies were changed all the time for different call signs, missions, etc. for security purposes. You cannot just tune into these channels. My ultimate SHTF would be my AN PRC117F. Fit in a Camelback MULE and had not only radio but
