  1. OK, I think I can find the md 20 fitting video much quicker from my friends here than wandering on my own on the computer. Can someone leave a link to the fitting the 20 rnd drum video? ie; filing off material to make the drum fit properly. Already went to mdarms.com and youtube I'm probably just overlooking something. Thanks!!
  2. Thanks guys!! I was refering to Tantal when I mentioned Doug in my original post. I did'nt think there were any parts kits available. It's springs and extractors that I mainly wanted.
  3. Ok, I just read the newbie's test fire and review. He mentioned getting the Saiga 12 parts kit if the guy ever emails him back. I must be missing something on this site as I don't recall seeing a parts kit for sale. Did he mean a conversion parts kits, I was thinking he might mean a spare parts kit, as he was trying out a drum. Can anyone clear this up for me? I, like many of you, would love to have a spare parts kit. I'm aware of Doug in Texas and the parts he sells. Thanks guys. I went out with my S12 last week and shot it in it's sporter configuration. Ran HV Remmington slugs 3 and 2
  4. Sorry guy's I double posted, that's why they call me double. Please go to the other post titled "Saiga spare parts kit"
  5. Does anyone have the new Tapco handguard yet? If so how is it? I saw it advertised in the latest Shotgun News. The ad states that it has three picatinney rails. It looks good!

    VIDEO/DVD

Someone should make video of an S12 conversion and show the different parts options for the internals and stocks. Then sell it on this site. I'd buy one. Or maybe give it to every new or old member who donates 20 or 30 dollars to this site. It's great having all you guys guide us newcomers thru this whole Saiga process, but it has been said by much wiser men than I "A picture is worth a thousand words, but a video will get you thru the conversion much easier"
  7. My way...Take a piece of 40lb test fishing line, loop it thru the BHO spring. Drop it atop the BHO slot, long end forward/short end rearward, tight against the receiver, pull down & forward on line compressing the spring against the floor of the rcvr. Insert FCG, insert pin thru FCG & thru BHO spring loop. Place BHO in slot, inbetween spring/FCG. Remove line from spring and rethread from bottom of slot, up & around short leg of spring, lift short end onto BHO. Install hammer, insert pin thru hammer and other end of BHO. You can start with the hammer first if you like.
  8. It's just as easy to take it down to your local welding shop and have 'em tig up the holes. You can't stick a screw in the old trigger hole, anyway. Now we're talking, stupid me, didn't even cross my mind. I'm on it!! Thanks!
  9. I hope more knowledgable people than I chime in and add to the list or say yeah!! I was wondering all along about parts availability. If armegeddon comes we need to keep our zombie killers going.
  10. That is how I did mine, but I am also using the grip nut to hold it in. As mentioned, if you are only using the 'top bolt', you are installing it halfway. It is designed to be held on by the 'top bolt' and the pistol grip bolt. None have failed that I've ever heard about. Thanks!! The 'drill and tap 4 bolts' was essayed by some anal "has to be ROCK SOLID I'M TIM THE TOOLMAN TAYLOR AAAUUUUUGGGHHH" person, and is totally unnecessary.
  11. Thanks, I'll check it out. I love this site, you people are the best!!
  12. Has anyone done the ACE folder install using just the one bolt on top, then using the nylon plugs instead of the 4 bolt drill and tap? How is it holding up?
  13. Thanks, from what I read I thought the Tromix would drop in. Going for the conversion.
  14. Just read a post about FCG, let me get this straight, the Tromix FCG won't just drop in? You have to remove metal? But the Dinzag does just drop in. IS this correct? Please give me the lowdown on the different FCG's THANKS!!

    Thanks

OK got my S12 going to start conversion as soon as I get all the parts straight. Thanks SOPMOD for your response to my first post and convincing me that I can do this mod. Will keep updates. I hope I can be of help to a newbie one day. Does everyone keep that stupid scope mount on the left side of the gun on? There's some great flechette ammo from a guy in Oregon. He's working on a version that will cycle in all semi-autos. he's almost done with it. Will post when it's available. It's exspensive! but will extend the range of your shotgun and is deadly. I ran it thru my FN SLP and this
  16. Has anyone tried the Tapco side folding stock? If so how is it?
  17. SBS requires prior federal approval and a nominal fee of $200 to acquire a Tax Stamp attached to a piece of paper that specifies that you have legally obtained permission to have the weapon in question. You must live in a state that permits NFA weapons and have a chief LEO that will sign the paperwork Thanks for the info. You all are the best!!
  18. Seriously,if you have ANY mechanical aptitude you can convert your own Saiga. Why wait and spend hundreds of extra dollars when the fine members of this forum will babysit you through every step? Nothing beats knowing that you don't need some guy hundreds of miles away to build up your favorite gun. I can convert an S12 on a kitchen table with a cold chisel, hammer, dremel tool with cutoff wheel and a 1/8th carbide burr in about 30 minutes start to finish so I am sure you could figure it out in a weekend with some guidance. http://www.strimoo.com/video/15745985/Saig...sion-Vimeo.html

  20. Hey good to be here with all the Saiga dudes and dudesses. I should have my 12 by tomorow. I'm trying to understand all the talk on this site, going slow but gaining knowledge thanks to all of you!! I want to convert, but I'm not going to do it myself, don't want to ruin a good gun. So, I was wondering if any of you could chime in and help me out. I know Tony Rumore is the man, but he's backed up till 2011, right? So, I will list who I thought I would go with and hope some of you will respond with feedback. I'm looking for reliability (isn't everyone) more than looks, but hey, looks are gr
  21. Hi, I'm now looking for a colorado smith for my conversion. Did you find anyone? Can you tell me the gunsmith in the Springs that you found? If you got yours done, tell me how you like it and how it performs and who you eventually went with to do the conversion. Thanks
