  1. Hey, now I know why mine was loose. I wonder if they will take it back even after I filled on it?

I called them cam like but I guess I really should call them wedge surfaces. There are two of them and on mine at least the one nearest the the hinge contacted first not allowing the main one to engage fully. I filled the offending side of the wedge until both were tight. It helped to put a shim over the spring to make it tighter too. What is the correct stance to keep the thing from unlocking? I would like not to use my homemade clamp if I don't need to. It never actually folded up just could feel the spring compress and then snap back into place.

Mine did move a bit but did some fitting of the cam like surfaces an it went away unless fired with high base ammo. It would then sort of unlock and relock while firing. I made a little bracket with a hole on one side that fits against the side of the folder and keeps it from moving. Uses an exsiting threaded hole in the folder and a big knurled screw to hold it one. Yeah, I know, makes it a little hokey, but I have folder on it just for easy storage not quick action, and it is absolutly solid now. I will replace it with a push button one as I know that they can be adjusted with an added
  4. Just curious, how do you shoot 21 rounds in rapid succession? Guess you guys don't own a MD drum. You can't lock up one with 20 rounds in it on a closed bolt. 20 rounds max rapid fire.

  6. Yours is way past mine (8444xxx) and mine works fine.
  7. Just put one on and it had the same problem. Quite a bit of play in all directions with all screws tight. Heres' why. The spring is not quite long enough (or the hole that it goes into is bored too deep) This is combined with the tightening cam surface closest to the hinge pin engaging first and only at the top letting the whole thing sort of walk around. You can send it back, but I bet the replacement will do the same thing, or fix it by tapping out the pin with a drift, putting a spacer in the spring hole, and taking some material off the edge of the cam top next to the pin. Just a lit
  8. Just got it from CSS. It is made from one of those high tech carbon filled plastics, very light, strong, tough stuff. The large butt piece on it fits well and seems to reduce felt recoil quite well. (Only tried it with low bass stuff so far. Still leaves horizontal red marks on my shoulder but not even slight discomfort. We will see what slugs do.)
  9. Just placed my third order with them and all three where not just processed but shipped within hours. If I need more saiga stuff (little chance I won't), if they carry it, they get my order.
  10. Is the Tromix metal or synthetic? If synthetic what sort? Well, just ordered one I will find out myself.
  11. They only take 2 1/2 inch shells? Why would anyone want one with saiga making a .,410 thats cheeper (in price) and takes 3 inch shells with a better gas system? Now if some American manufacture was to come out with a .410 AR upper I might be interested. It would end up expensive after you changed to a piston gas system and even then it would have to take 3 inch shells. Maybe that isn't possible without cutting up the lower some.
  12. The two ends of the hammer spring push down on the back of the trigger to tension it. Make sure they are on the trigger and not binding, or like was just posted your disconector spring is missing. Should be able to pull back agaist the disconnector hook and have it spring back.
  13. Used to have nitobezene in it too. Worked even better.
  14. Best write up and pics I have seen. I just did my first conversion after looking a everything I could find and yours would have cleared up some of my initial questions. Sticky??
  15. I just finished a conversion too and after the first test fire (which went fine) I decided to polish the hammer, follower, and bolt. To do the hammer I just pushed down the sheppards hook and pushed out the pin, polished, and reinstalled. When I reinstalled the sheppards hook it went up into the last coil on the mainspring, not up against the pin. This caused the action to not reset correctly. It was a little had to see the problem at first but when corrected all was fine again. Point is, maybe the same thing might have happened here.
