  1. The marks look front to back. I was wondering if when the bolt head rotates to close whether it was scratching the bullet guide. but those scratches would be side to side and not front to back.
  2. Is it trying to double feed? Otherwise it sounds like your bolt is riding high or your mags are sitting low.
  3. Yeah my bad. It was 200/1260 which is 15.8 cents without shipping.
  4. Aim has got yugo back in stock. 225 delivered is about the price depending on your location. That's for 1260 rounds. That's 15.8 cents per round delivered.
  5. I wonder if the Arsenal triggers are more reliable when you have dirt and sand in your receiver than the G-2's are. I have two reasons for thinking this. 1) azoutdoorsman posted a video under the name scotsdalerick showing how he got a bulgy 74 to fail. He stated that the G-2 was supposedly a good trigger and that it was the trigger which failed first. 2) gunplumber Mark Graham of ARS posted an article a while ago on his website about studying the dimensions of Romanian triggers and that he had come to believe each one may have been mated to its rifle and that he had discerned
  6. That probably is dinzag's handguard retainer. I bet CSS worked with him to build a large batch instead of doing one off like dinzag normally does for orders. By getting that large batch, it probably helped Dinzag amortize his work time over a large set of parts and thus get economy of scale.
  7. I've got it. Romanian SAR 2 or Intrac MK II. I compared the barrels and they are thinner. Do the FSE fake triangle folder. This is now a hard plastic and maintains a triangle shape. Least material I'm sure you can find for a stock. Do you need the FSB and Muzzle brake? You can find one with a neutered fsb and no muzzle brake. Surely the lightest possible config. Do a Tapco Galil handguard and an ultimak rail for a micro red dot. Boom. You can't beat that.
  8. Are you sure they don't mean steel core? Steel core could be bad because ricochets would be worse than lead and it could possibly go through their backstop. Steel case may be because of reloading the brass you guys leave behind.
  9. damn if that's the case i have to take apart the trigger assembly right? but why does it work fine when i manually rack the bolt and press the trigger without any rounds? Because when the trigger is reset during use, you still hold down the trigger in the fire position. When you manually do it, I suspect you are not holding down the trigger with your finger and thus the hammer gets caught the front hook and not the semi-auto disconnector. When you use the rifle to fire, the semi-auto disconnector grabs the hammer and some portion of the linkage gets in the way of the trigger
  10. strange. I always thought that the gassing was controlled by the size of the hole bored into the barrel and not the gas block's inner diameter. It is possible the gas block you bought was used and therefore the inner diameter was corroded.
  11. The lower one looks like a romanian clone so I vote for it since it is a mock up of a rifle fielded by a combloc country.
  12. Again, this is an ongoing AMMO PRICE THREAD related to 7.62x39 ammo. Prices fluctuate. Please view the AMMO PRICE BLITZ posts that are made occasionally for up to date info. Refresh my memory where it was .15 per round. Was it from a company that would rape you in the ass over shipping?
  13. That was 17 of May. I do not know how people get advanced notice of what is coming through customs. I hear that there may be some East German AK 74 kits coming from Croatia some time.
  14. You are right those are gone forever if for no other reason than the stocks of x39 mil-surp are only a fraction of what they were and demand is much higher. I wouldn't doubt this time next year we find ourselves looking hard at reloading range ammo. Some day all this mil-surp will end and prices will rise accordingly. Eventually it will. But like I said before, I do put some credibility into AK-Nut's rumor that there is a boat load of Yugoslavian milsurp waiting to be unloaded into the market that will seriously lower our prices again. Prices have continued a slow and steady decrease
