  1. Is this the aftemarket you refered to? http://ak-builder.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=30209 Yes it is, I have 4 sets from when Centerfiresystems had them for 39.99 a few years back.
  2. Centerfiresysters, apexgunparts, whatacountry, and AtlanticFirearms are all good places to look. Ak-builder has some replica furniture for a decent price.
  3. That one was dimpled, some of the older ones are pinned on. I prefer when they are pinned lol. I don't know if I'm going to install this one, it was more of a test. I may make another one with non dimpled parts.
  4. I've riveted pistol grip nuts in place from milled kits in the past.
  5. From the CSS site "We highly recommend the "Saiga 12 Barrel Nut" to allow for easy secure installation and removal of Muzzle Brakes and Flash Hiders.Barrel Nut sold separately."
  6. No, not at all.. I have about 10 parts kits, some are in good shape, others are not.. This one is Egyptian and has some rust, but after a trip to the sand blaster and a fresh coat af molyresin it will clean right up. When this pic was taken the barrel wasn't even pressed into the front trunion..
  7. Vortex Strikefire with an RS Regulate side mount... Or a TWS Top Cover.
  8. Im wondering this as well. Im looking to chop the barrel down about 5 inches and attaching a gk01 brake
  9. I recently moved (Jan 1) and in the process misplaced some of my tooling.. More specifically my Thread Alignment tool for 14x1 LH. There is no worse feeling than knowing you have something, but having no idea where its at.. So after an hour of searching i decided Id make my own Unfortunatly i didnt take pictures along the way, but Ill try to describe in detail exactly what i did. First off here is the finished product I knew the hardest thing to make woud be the actual threads on the T.A.T. since i didnt have a lathe, or the more obvious a T.A.T In the process of searching for m
  10. I picked up a welder a few weeks back, and have been dying to try something out.. Well today was the day I started off with a factory take off Front Sight Block and chopped it down I then shaped it on the bench grinder to fit against the factory Saiga Gas Block Im still working on my welds, so dont bash lol Here she is with the welds cleaned up And now the finished product

  13. I plan on chopping my barrel down and permanently attaching a gk01 clone brake to the end to give me an 18.5 overall length.. Do you think it will function low brass without opening the gas ports?
  14. Tapco mags are actually pretty decent.. When surplus mags were $10 a pop I wouldn't even consider a Tapco mag.... But now that they are over $30 each for surplus and hard to find in bulk I find the Tapco mags very appealing.
  15. I had the same issue. The top of the mag would fit fine going into the polymer magwell, but would catch when it got to the receiver. I ended up taking a file to the top of the mag and took off the sharp angle. Very little material was removed, it just rounded off the edge.
  16. Ordered 2 weeks ago and they were taking pre orders for a late January 28th shipment.. They stopped the pre order a few days ago.
  17. 169 a tin from Atlantic Firearms http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/featured-not-published/545-x-39-russian-ak74-ammo-1080-round-case-detail.html?Itemid=0
  18. Sportsmansguide had pre order for 139 a tin. I picked up a crate for $273 delivered after using a coupon code.. I did that 8 times lol it was cheaper to buy them a crate at a time then it was to buy them all at once. Came out to 12.6 cents per round.
  19. I never uploaded the bending video. I may do a review video of the gun and what it's been through. I'll add that video into the review.
  20. Yeah, it's a friend and I.. We did bend the barrel back with a cinder block, a blow torch and a shop stool. I have that on video as well. Thanks for the sub
