  2. "OP" is usually the abbreviation that stands for "Original Poster" or the person starting the thread. That wold be you Datastick. In this case it looks to mean "original post"... referring to the content in your first message.

  4. The CAA COLLAPSIBLE TUBE is a quality piece of hardware, but be ready to do some modifying or grinding if you use a bolt on style DIY trigger guard on a converted rifle. The rear mounting bolt head interferes with the insertion of the CAA tube. Absolutely nothing wrong with either part... they just try to occupy the same space.
  5. Hey, I threw out a pair of Tromix S17's because they were the wrong color and a dozen of Mike's drums because they had the wrong back plate installed and wouldn't lock into the gun properly. Can you guys send me some new ones? Please? Seriously, who throws away parts that can still be returned, or even used for something else? I bought a trigger guard made by one of our vendors on this site (and sold by another vendor) that was obviously used and bent with a pair of pliers. I really didn't feel like going through the trouble of shipping parts back and forth, plus I saw that as an oppor
  6. It depends on where you're shipping it. You can leave the entire thing assembled, box it up real secure, and FedEx it to yourself in another state if you want to. Hell, even the USPS will ship it. You will need to ship it to a FFL for the receiver (the only controlled part the ATF is concerned about) if you ship it to another person other than yourself.
  7. Right on! The gas block is easy to pull. The barrel itself is a little harder, if you go that route. Probe around in there and figure out how many ports it has; you might not have to do anything with the gas system if it already has a decent setup. Depending on what flash suppressor you plan on using I figure you'll be cutting off somewhere between 5 or 6 inches to bring it down to 18.25" total. If the gas system is at least 3 ports then you shouldn't really have any problems getting it to cycle properly. Have fun! P.S. $150 will buy a lot of ammo. I'm all for saving a buck wh
  8. First, as stated above, ensure that it has a working gas system. The last thing you want is a single shot Saiga 12. Second, if you plan on cutting the barrel anyway, then I would do as you plan and buy the cheapest model I could find. If it happens to be a 24" barrel, then you just get that much bigger of a souvenir when you're done. If you don't want the left over piece, I'll gladly take it off your hands Third, you've clearly stated that you plan on permanently attaching a muzzle device; you don't need threads to do that. It costs you nothing to cut a barrel shorter if you don'
  9. 1911 springs, really? No reliability concerns? No issues, but you're going to need to know what weight you want to use. The 1911 springs are rated through a very large range from 3 or 4 lbs all the way to 28 lbs or more (and every lb between those). Go to one of the vendors TonyRumore suggested. Those are proven parts...
  10. I've cut them with a quality tubing cutter before, and as Azrial said, be careful with the feed or you can end up with an oval barrel. I usually pull the barrels and take them to the machine shop, but I understand not everybody has that opportunity. I've always thought that if I was forced to cut one with a hacksaw and I needed to keep it square, I would use one of these: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/13185-325_PARFS4-2-Accessories-42-Tools/Park-SG-6-Threadless-Fork-Saw-Guide.htm

There's one judge fighting for the little guy. Arrowhead Justice Court Judge John C. Keegan thinks that photo radar is unconstitutional and throws out all the tickets. Basically, he's setting a precedent in this state. The issue will most definitely show up on the ballots again, so make sure you're registered to vote. It's amazing how many people out there think it's a good thing to be policed by a private company from a foreign country. The contracts are up on Redflex next year (IIRC) and we can help prevent them from doing business here ever again. Even ex-governor Janet Nappy sa
