  1. Actually...after some work my gun ran great for the first time ever!!!! I went through about 100rounds of ammo with a ton of problems (FTE, FTF, etc), so I started looking closely at what was going wrong. After every shot I dropped the magazine out and looked from above and below to see what the issue was. I noticed that the rounds were being chambered without the rims slipping into the bolt and thus they weren't being properly extracted. So I figured it might be the buffer messing with the travel of the bolt carrier and thus it wasn't properly racking the next shell. So I removed t
  2. Emailed...please let me know if you don't get it. Thanks!!!
  3. Does anyone have the equipment needed to thread a 7.62x39 barrel? I'm willing to rent or buy. And if you don't have it, and you can provide information on where to get it at a decent price, that'd be appreciated too. Thanks!!!
  4. Hell yea! I like this idea more than any other!!! I wouldn't have thought of it, but I scrape the crap out of my gun everytime I try and it's always a pain. I'd buy it.

  6. The stock and PG should be fairly strait forward so long as it's made for a stamped receiver. The hard part is the handguards. Check http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=5178 for Cobra's write-up on HG. Also, check with Dinzag as I believe he now sells a modified HG retainer for the S12s. You'll still have to tub out the handguards though, not a big deal, but it's not a strait up conversion.
  7. However, the article states that substance P "cleared up" the islet cell inflammation that is typical in Type I DM and also curbed insulin resistance involved in both Types I and II, so there may be hope there also. This is particularly interesting for me. I graduated with a BS in Biochemistry and focused on neuroscience; I spent 3 years working with rats and mice in neuropharmacological studies; and after graduating I worked for a major pharmaceutical company. Additionally, I'm a Type I diabetic of 14 years. I'm having a difficult time being receptive to this as a major hope for Ty
  8. Retail is $1299. Compare that to the Bushy piston operated AR that's $999 for just the upper! Then you have to add a lower receiver, a parts kit, a pg, a stock, and you'd not have the railed forarm...oh yea, and it'd not be a Sig. Granted, it's made in the US, but I'm betting it's still designed and manufactured better than the Bushy equiv.
  9. http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?prod...=293&page=1 Is that the right one? And does the Tapco gas piston fit the Saigas?
  10. Congrats! Sweet deal, glad it worked out for you. I too am picking one up from my FFL today... Is that the hipoint? Let me know what you think!!!
  11. Picked her up today, and she's gorgeous! I can't wait to get her all fixed up.
  12. The Sig556 is officially on sale in the US! http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showth...043&page=13
  13. That thing is beautiful. Great paint job! And damn nice grouping.
  14. What all are the difference between milled and stamped receivers? With some minor mods, can I make milled receiver furniture fit a stamped receiver? PG? Stock? HGs? Thanks!!!
  15. Well f**k. Hey Cobra...add another rifle to the list to work on over Xmas. PM inbound. Thanks for the info Dinzag!
  16. Can you just weld on a retainer to the saiga gas block? I know it's not quite as easy as I make it sound, but it is a valid option, right?
  17. I didn't think there was anything inherently illegal about the magazines. If you have a non-922r compliant gun, then it would be, but if your gun is 922r compliant I think the issue is declared value. I think there's some tax law with regards to how much you can bring in. If you have receipts proving its under the appropriate value, then *I believe* you're safe. However, this is not my area of expertise.
  18. Haha, yea, I don't think the market is saturated yet. I offered some extras that I have on order and they were spoken for within two hours. So people still want them.
  19. I've never heard anything but good reviews...
  20. So that'sthe key!!! I only did one coat with Walmart Flat Black, and then called it quits. I didn't thought more sanding would scrape the paint up, but a few more coats should do it some good. Thanks!!!
  21. Check the S12 forum stickies...or search for 922r compliance. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=122 Also, check the tech section. It's linked in Dinzag's signature. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=8856
  22. I hope to make some matches--my 20ga still hasn't gotten to try out a competition. I'm in Kentucky at law school, but I'm going to try to transfer back to UNC or Duke after this year...but that'll depend on my grades. If they're not where I need them to be, then I'll be here for another few years. I LOVE Kentucky, I just can't afford the out of state tuition. And while Duke is even more expensive than UK, it would open doors that should make it worth while.
