  1. There have been reports of both Surefire and AGP mags breaking under heavy recoil. Sounds like they were probably just bad moldings or curing. I like the AGP's but that is because they are what I own. They are made out of 2 halves screwed together so that ca be an issue, I locktite my screws in with purple gunsmith locktite.
  2. Ask over at the high road or the firing line forums or maybe find a cowboy action forum they use them. I googled them before but only found 2.5" 12 Ga brass shotgun shells, There are 2 3/4" shells out there though.
  3. Are you talking about the follower or the feed lips?

If you cannot get a good quality heavy round like 2 3/4" remington slugger then you have issues. Don't adjust the gas plug all the way out as I would think gas would start seeping out. A turn or two past may help but after that it does nothing. Check you gas vents if you have 2 you are amongst friends. Either way is sounds like you are eligible for warranty work via Cadiz Gun Works free shipping and everything (as long as you have not converted). If you do have 3 gas vents get a dental pick from the drug store and clean out the vents, also make sure they go all the way through to the barr
  5. I said the most dependable semi auto is the A5. No one is going to argue that any semi is more dependable then a pump. Also they used the A5 in the military, not for combat but you will find military marked A5 type shotguns out there. Gas operated shotguns offer many benefits over recoil operated designs but no modern gas shotgun is more reliable than an A5 especially when filthy. I don't anyone who is has been around shotguns for a while will argue that point.
  6. 1) Not sure probably nothing you need to be worried about 2) This is for a Saiga rifle not shotgun 3) If your gas vents are blocked or your barrel is overindexed this will align your gas vents in the block. Unless you have an issue with your gas system this is not to be worried about 4) I guess some people require some fine tuning of the extractor and where it ejects. Unless you have FTE or jams you need not worry about this. Give Cadiz Gun Works a try they are a good bunch.

By goose loads I assume you mean high brass magnum steel loads, are they shoulder busters? Are they 2 3/4" or 3"? Does not seem like you should have issues with these unless your gun is seriously under gassed. Unless it is overgassed and the action is moving too fast as happens with ARs with a weak buffer spring. We need more info especially with what kind of loads that work well with it.
  8. If I were to pick the most reliable semi auto 12 gauge it would be a Browning A5 aka Remington model 11 aka Savage 645 (et al) period. The design is nearly a century old and still is hard to beat. Each design has their weaknesses but if you are shooting any serious load be slugs, buck shot or hi brass magnum hunting loads then none will likely have issues.
  9. Let me guess you got your info from the Benneli website or from a Benneli dealer? Jam proof? Never needs cleaning? Sounds like magic.
  10. Just something to think about is that you will have to modify your mags and they will not work in a regular Saiga with no magwell so they pretty much lose their resale value if that matters to you.

    5 round mags

As hobbyshooter has pointed out if his shotgun is converted then it is already in a non sporting configuration even if you stick with the 5 rounder. To the OP there are a few cheap less expensive parts that will get you compliant. It is usually no recommended to use a magazine as a compliant part. Let us know what have got now.
  12. Ha, yes as you figured out it slides on and is a big dovetail.
  13. It doesnt seem to tighten the pattern enough for trap. At 25-35 yrds, it does it's job fine, but at 50, its about the same as without it. Hmm, that's strange, I have an ancient one on an old remington model 11 and it works great. Is that your experience with good copper plated turkey or steel shot (shot that does not deform as much as plain lead). Just wondering because I was planning on getting one for my S12 I am getting back from Cadiz soon and use it for Turkey and deer. I don't really expect virgin honeyhole tight groups like from a extra full choke but I would hope the full set
  14. Wow you actually paid the $200 for that!!! Glad you like it I'm just not sure how they can justify the price compared to the unmodified factory skeleton stock.
