  1. I'm in. Thanks, this is really cool.
  2. Nope, 2 screws on top, nothing on the bottom. Just recently did the conversion, checked the boards, there is no need, or placement for the bottom screw. Enjoy the extra space you can use for a limbsaver.
  3. Thanks for all the tips. It looks like doing the 2 part trigger job seems useless to me if it keeps the lever. I think I was confusing a full on conversion with just going 922 compliant route. Adding up the parts so I can accept 30 rd mags seems like the best route for me. I guess I need to find a USA skeleton stock that is similar to the RAA, hand guard, gas tube, ... I guess I'll just have to keep my 30rd mags in NH until I get the required parts. As far as the Red dot. I really like the side mount Kobra, I'm also seeing some interesting scout style red dots, I've been looking
  4. I get different responses concerning converting here in the people's republic. I also have an open post concerning doing a trigger job without moving the pistol grip forward, due to the fact that we can not have the evil pistol grip here. The only response I get is "You're an idiot move to another state". I am not moving anytime soon, so I will look to maximize my gun as is thank you very much. How bad are the triggers for these? Both my 12 and 7.62 have nice crisp triggers that break consistently and feel just as nice as all my other guns. No trigger slap, no problems at all. Maybe you g
  5. Just got back from the range, and I am impressed. I really love how it shoots. It was accurate enough for me on the short 50 Yd range. I didn't take exact measurements, but overall I was happy with the iron sights. My only problem now is figuring out my optics choices. Wow, this one might be my favorite now.
  6. I purchased an S12 a couple of months ago and was a little more than thrilled with the performance. So I figured I would try out their 7.62. Right off the bat, I really like the looks of it stock compared to my S12. I bought it barely used and it came with a nice bipod setup and some ammo. I am planning on doing the skeleton stock swap as I did on my S12, just to keep the feel similar. I do live in MA, so I am limited on what I can do, and I don't mind the skeleton stock I think it is perfectly functional. Please don't tell me to move to another state, that is getting old. Any other

    Stock Options

Couldn't agree more. But I live in Mass., where we can't have the evil pistol grip. Just recently put on the skeleton stock and I like it to a point. It is much shorter, and has a metal plate. Recoil seemed much stronger with it, and the chicken wing seemed to stick up a bit higher than the Monte stock. That being said, the extra space is begging for a limbsaver. My trigger is nice and smooth in its original state and I am not getting any trigger slap, so I am not currently planning on a conversion. Bottom line^^ I will probably catch hell for this from the full convert fans, bu
  8. Funny, that was the exact thread that made me decide to swap out the stock. I bought it from one of the members here. I am not trying to swap out parts to do a larger mag conversion, I just could not stand the Monte stock. The law here in MA does not allow for a pistol grip, which is why I decided to go with the skeleton setup. Only problem is that every conversion I looked at had you moving the trigger group forward. This is not possible with the setup I was hoping to run. So, I guess my original question still stands, has anyone done a conversion without moving the trigger group?
  9. Thanks for the quick reply. Great writeup btw, I saved it for future possible conversion.
  10. Hi, all of the writeups and topics on converting require moving the trigger forward to accommodate the pistol grip. Since I live in The People's Republic of Massachusetts, I can not have the evil pistol grip. I have chosen to do the skeleton stock and leave my gun in it's legal, neutered state. It seems that if you are going to do the conversion, you can not do it part way, you have to do the full job in order to be compliant. I am probably mistaken on this, but can I do the tapco trigger job without changing the stock and all the other fun stuff?
  11. first post here. thought i should wait and read up so that i am informed about what to post. i feel pretty confidant that that is the worst looking saiga i have ever seen. and i have looked around a lot. sorry if anyone on the forum made that abomination. no, really, i am sorry.
  12. replaced monte carlo stock with skeleton stock
